It is entirely possible that something important has happened to her family. Maybe her husband has changed his job to somewhere else【出于人性化考虑哟?好象真的发生了学校也的确无能为力---学校不可能把其老公也raise and promote】(我是想说因为她老公的工作调整,全家必须搬到其他地方去住,恩,没有说清楚哦). Again, maybe her parents who live in another state become sick and need some care and help. Also, maybe her children are grown up and she would not continue to work any more. Unless the speaker rules out such possibilities, the recommendation about salary raise and promotion is suspicious.
Moreover, the evidences provided by the speaker do not have direct relationship with the outstanding performance. Even if the professor is qualified and plans to leave Elm City University as the speaker mentions, whether she is competent to Department Chairperson is unknown. The ability to teach and research is not equal to manage well. Maybe the professor always concentrates on her academic field rather than shrewd on interpersonal skills.(If she is promoted to chairperson, there would be unfortunately one less competent professor for students and one more ineffective manager for the department as a result.)Moreover, even though she is good at communication and management, the professor may prefer to remain her current job instead of being promoted to her uninteresting position. Therefore, the recommention【recommendation】 to raise her salary and promote her to Department Chairperson would be suspicious before considering her ability and her own decision.
In conclusion, the argument is not as reasonable as it stands. Untill【until】 the speaker provides more evident that the competent professor plans to leave Elm City University because of the current salary, the argument would be convincible.

最大的问题:和Alive一样,对原文的逻辑理解还不是很透彻,所以攻击的顺序欠妥:前提(假设):①PT对目前的工资和待遇(地位)不满②有离开学校的打算或有外校用高薪和高待遇诱惑PT结论:出于对PT卓越的教学和科研能力的考虑,我们建议给PT加薪进爵。而论据:①PT的课是该校最大的课à教学和能力强;②吸引研发资金à科研能力强;都是为了支持论点:PT卓越的教学和科研能力。那么现在应该知道:“该先攻击结论及推理;后攻击论据”才是比较合理和逻辑清晰的写法。
其实一直对攻击顺序很confused。恩,分析的很好,很受启发~~一定改~~
1.前提错:PT可能有其他原因要离开
2.结论错:即使因为薪水和待遇而想离开,PT也不见得能胜任新的职位
3.论据错:PT不见得那么有教学科研能力
可是B2,B3好像联系不太紧的说阿~~norman怎么看呢?
