The author suggested Baobob Inc. should start a apprenticeship program for the reason that promising graduates in architecture major were leaving college at a early stage and some interviewed well-known architects did not graduate from a architecture major.Though it seemed reasonable at the first glance, it remains many flaws in the reasoning and there may be more choices.
Firstly, the interviewees and the college students the corporation expected to enroll, as refered in the argument, are just two generations. The famours architects may live about four decades before the graduates now did, which can make the technical level and choices of high school students when graduated very different. It is possible that the technics at that time was not as complicated as it is today. For that reason, the high school knowledge is well enough for the start of a promising architect then ,and which may be not enough now. There is also possibilty that the competition of jobs is not as furious as today's ,the students can get a contend job without getting into college,so many good students that time might hunt for a job directly after the graduation from high school and became a talent architects at last. For this It is unfair for the author to give the comparation between this two groups,or get a conclusion from one to the other.
Secondly, the scope and amount of interviewees are all unkown which will greatly decrease the reliability of the argument. It is likely that the interview only interview few interviewees and they are just right not graduated from a architeture major. And may they just interview architects in one local area, and they happen to be in a low degree, but this can not be same situation of the whole coutry or even the whole world.More over the author only said those well-know architects were not graduated architechture major, but he has miss the possibility that these talents are graduated from other related program in the college or a Msc. or even a Phd. instead of high school student as the author suggested.
What's more, the author complained that promising college students in the right major leave college early in their college study without pointing out where they had gone.It is possible that these students just had gone to the Baobob Inc.,and then the wrong understanding of the statistics will lead to a totally wrong conception.Even if they are enrolled by other corporation, it can not be a proof that we should enroll high school students.Because this loss of talent graduation may indicate the corporation should raise the starting salary and welfare to attract those talents learning the right major.
If it is really very difficult for us to employ the graduates in the same major, there is still a choice to get these students in the related major who is interesed in archtechture to the appretice pragram instead of high school students.Afer all,it's clear that gernerally college students have a more stable base in mathmatic and other basic courses that is the essential to the design work of a architechture . If the college student can admit the same salary as high school students, why don't we employee these students have leared more already and have leared how to study by theirsleves for four yers at least.
To sum up, it is very considerate for the author to give this good suggetion ,while before we make the final decicous,it is better for us to learn more about the details such as the scope and amount of the interview , the exact degree of these success architectures and the true flow direction of the graduates and what is the real reason for their leaving.Only by this mean can we give the corporation a correct decision to employee more talents.
