Topic 214: In each city in the region of Treehaven, the majority of the money spent on government-run public school education comes from taxes that each city government collects. The region's cities differ, however, in the value they place on public education. For example, Parson City typically budgets twice as much money per year as Blue City does for its public schools—even though both cities have about the same number of residents. It seems clear, therefore, that Parson City residents care more about public school education than do Blue City residents.
Syllabus:
1. Maybe the revenue from taxes of B is far less than of P. Thus results in a difference of their allocation to education. Perhaps the public emphasis is much higher in B than P, because the portion of money allocated to education is much larger than P.
2. Fails to mention the situation of education in two cities.
a. children in P are much more than those in B.
b. situation of the schools in P may be worse than B, and need money to improve.
3. Governments’ emphasis on education does not bespeak that of the public’s.
正文:
The arguer claims the Parson City residents care more about public school education than do Blue City residents because Parson City typically budgets twice as much money per year as Blue City does for its public schools—even though both cities have about the same number of residents. This argument seems reasonable at the first glance, but after careful examining the arguer’s reasoning, I find the arguer overlooks other factors that might account for the problem.
First of all, it is unfair to get the conclusion that the Parson City residents pay more attention on public school education than do Blue City residents if the revenue from taxes of Blue City is far less than of Parson City, because this result may cause a difference of their allocation to education. Perhaps the public emphasis is much higher in Blue City than Parson City, because the portion of money allocated to education is much larger than Parson City. For example, the revenue of Parson City is fifth as much money as Blue City,
Secondly, the arguer fails to mention the situation of education in two cities. Although the two cities have the same number of residents, the children in Parson City may be much more than those in Blue City. Furthermore, the situation of the schools in Parson City may be worse than Blue City, and need money to improve. With the large number of children and the poor situation of the schools, there is no surprise that Parson City typically budgets twice as much money per year as Blue City does for its public schools.
In addition, the arguer made a logic mistake that Governments’ emphasis on education does not bespeak that of the public’s. It is the government not the public to make the decision that how much money to spend on education. The government has to consider every aspect on budgeting and allocate the money properly to make sure the smooth development of the city. Though the public in Blue City are concern with education greatly, the residents have no power to pay more money on education. The budget for education in Blue City is less than Parson City doesn’t mean the public have less concern with education.
Without accounting for these and other possible reasons, the arguer makes an unfair conclusion that Parson City residents care more about public school education than do Blue City residents. To strengthen the conclusion, the author should give more evidences about the above-mentioned conclusion.

First of all, it is unfair to get the conclusion that the Parson City residents pay more attention on public school education than do Blue City residents if the revenue看提纲的时候就不太明白这个指的是什么呢? from taxes of Blue City is far less than of Parson City, because this result may cause a difference of their allocation to education. 这样写是不是好些this is possible a result of different
Allocation to education
Perhaps the public emphasis is much higher in Blue City than Parson City, because the portion of money allocated to education is much larger than Parson City. For example, the revenue of Parson City is fifth as much money as Blue City,
Secondly, the arguer fails to mention the situation of education in two cities. Although the two cities have the same number of residents, theamount of children in Parson City may be much more than those in Blue City. Furthermore, the situation 和段首那个意思应该不同吧?具体的教学条件之类的 facilities or excellent teacher source of the schools in Parson City may be worse than Blue City, and need money to improve. With the large number of children and the poor situation of the schools, there is no surprise that Parson City typically budgets twice as much money per year as Blue City does for its public schools.

Without accounting for these and other possible reasons, the arguer makes an unfair conclusion that Parson City residents care more about public school education than do Blue City residents. To strengthen the conclusion, the author should give more evidences about the above-mentioned conclusion.

The arguer claims the Parson City residents care more about public school education than do Blue City residents because Parson City typically budgets twice as much money per year as Blue City does for its public schools—even though both cities have about the same number of residents. 复述题目似乎多了些,可以更简短些。This argument seems reasonable at the first glance, but after careful examining the arguer’s reasoning, I find the arguer overlooks other factors that might account for the problem.
First of all, it is unfair to get the conclusion that the Parson City residents pay more attention on public school education than do Blue City residents do放后面来 if the revenue from taxes of Blue City is far less than that of Parson City, because this result may cause a difference of their allocation to education. Perhaps the public emphasis is much higher in Blue City than Parson City, because 似乎可以换个表因果的the portion of money allocated to education is much larger than Parson City. For example, the revenue of Parson City is fifth as much money as Blue City,

Secondly, the arguer fails to mention the situation of education in two cities. Although the two cities have the same number of residents, the children in Parson City may be much more than those in Blue City这个观点好!.
