WORDS: 567 TIME: 0:53:37 DATE: 2007-1-28(欢迎批改) 1 The better children learn to accept the concept of society, take socialresponsibility and follow social regulations, the more civiled and hopeful this world will be in the future.
2 However, there are a lot of subjective factors as well as objectve ones inthe current education over kids that leave instability and unpredictability to the socializing process of children.
3 There are a lot of things we can do to make up for these defects and makesure that all the children could be well socialized and carry this society to a new high. Children, next generation, are the future of civilization and the hope of consistent social development. How well they are socialized from the beginning of their life will decide the path they are going to take. Could it be any more crucial? But do we know enough about how to teach them in that aspect and do so? As I can see, it's hard to say "Yes"so far.
Firstly, the better children learn to accept the concept of society, take social responsibility and follow social regulations, the more civilized and hopeful this world will be in the future.That's almost a universal way that works in all socialized animals. Bees, for example, learn about the rules in the honeycomb almost from the very first second they are born: their roles, their responsibility, their work, etc. We are much more intelligent species than bees, and our social mechanism is way more complicated than the honeycomb, but the basic principle is the same. Without the cognition of social consciousness from childhood, they don't know what to,how to, and why to cooperate with other social members to make a better future for our society. No matter how talented these children are, their life as adults would be still covered with clouds of uncertainty and the contribution they could make for the society is doubtful.
However, there are a lot of subjective factors as well as objective ones in the current education over kids that leave instability and unpredictability to the socializing process of children. In the traditional education systems, intellect and knowledge are the most concerned elements about students while most of the times schools and parents don't realize the urgency and importance of helping kids getting through the hard time to be accustomed to social environment. Instead, they always take it for granted that getting involved into society is a matter of time, or even aninstinct, as what they've experienced. They are wrong for two reasons. First, they simply ignore many sad stories happened to the people of their generation due to their incompatibility with the society; and second, the world is quite different now from the one they lived in before. Technologies and, ironically,social development have made people's life more isolated from the real world with telephone, TV, delivery food and PlayStation, and the trend is still going on with the invention of Internet.
There are a lot of things we can do to makeup for these defects and make sure that all the children could be well socialized and carry this society to a new high. To begin with, psychologists and sociologists need to make investigations to find out the dangerous tendencies among children which would affect their socialization, and make practical suggestions and solutions. Government should always maintain a healthy and helpful social environment while schools guide students and create opportunities for them to develop their sense of social recognition and social responsibility. For individual students, their parents also needs to participate as a role model.
To sum up, we didn't do enough yet to help our children socialize, which is the key to the continuous thriving of humansociety, and that's not even the bad news. The bad news is that people don't even realize this situation. To get it back onto the right track, We must do imuch more work through cooperation of the whole society, and we must do it now. |
