The aim of arts is to please people and enlighten people's mind. When artists create his work, he can put his idea in the work. And some hidden ideas and impulses of a society can be revealed when people appreciate the arts of work.

In the past decades of centuries , the development of arts is no smoothly. Before records of history, people drew on rock, sang besides river and wrote some characters on stone just for fun of life or a record of life. In the antique civilizations, such as ancient China and ancient Egypt, the arts enter a eulogizing form. The paintings are usually used for embellishment of the palace of emperors while most songs are eulogies to praise the kings'  merits and virtues as well as the boom of the dynasty. And the literature are always a tool for record history. In that time of period, arts seem never reveal some ideas and impulses.

When arts went into mediaeval ages, veil of  arts are gradually revealed. In that time, the power of religion and king are overwhelming in Europe. There is no free space for artists to create and people's mind is restricted. When some new idea is germinating , the strong power of religion and king were immediately eradicating the buds of new ideas .However ,violence never imprison the passion of artists .Many artists began to create some famous work to claim at the time and the power. For example, Dante, the great Italian poet, wrote his famous poem " The Divine Comedy " to express his dissatisfaction about the unjust  of society. However, the strength of the artists in that period are so weak that the arts are only a tool for  release their anger and placate their pain.

However, when the era of renaissance come, the circumstance are changed. After the black of mediaeval ages, people reconsider the importance of arts and many kings support the artists for their creation. It's really a golden time for artists. Maybe being oppressed for too long, the artists' ideas explode across the whole Europe. Beethoven composes to reveal the hope for free and the inequality of fate among society. The essay " Eutopia " written by Raborey, express a dream for a heaven with free and equality. There are abundant arts work during renaissance . Many ideas enlighten us for a better system of society  while the capitalism had  just been developed since this period.

When we enter the 20th century, the twice world war nearly destroy us .And artists never stopped to create to complain and lampoon the war. Picasso ,the great Spanish painter, drew many famous paints during the wars. Some paints (他有个画是个人抱个脑袋的，很惊恐的样子，忘记画的名字了) express people's dread during the war. And the sculptrue just ahead of the mansion of UN, a pistol which its pipe(枪的枪管是不是用这个？) is winding ,make us understand war never bring us happy but pain.

Nowadays, we enter 21th  century, there are various of tool for the artists to create and express their ideas. And the ideas and impulses of our society are on longer hidden. People can appreciate arts and understand the new ideas of artists from TV, radio, newspapers and conferences .Especially thanks to the usage of INTERNET, not only can artists express his new ideas , but also everyone connected by the INTERNET can convey his thoughts on nets. Consequently, the ideas and impulses of a society can be seen explicitly.

All in all, the arts has fulfilled its history mission to reveal the otherwise veiled ideas and impulses of our society .Because of  the high-tech approaches and the freedom for different views, the fresh ideas and（写到这里没写完）inflicts which artists wish to show can be expressed explicitly everywhere instead of the suppression.
