Education has become more and more important all through the past centuries;people never stop making efforts to find scientific and practical ways toimprove the quality of education. Among various opinions and methods nowadays,there is one which suggests that all faculty should be required to spend time working outside the academic world in professions relevant to the courses they teach. This suggestion is highly valued, especially effective in nowadayssociety, though may be too absolute and excessive in some degrees.

The idea is practical and appreciated for that it is based on one of most important aims of the education: not to be only the education itselfbut to prepare the students for the future participating in the society. Since most students step into the society and get a definite profession instead of continuing research works in the laboratory, it's a wise decision to ensure them to be more adaptive and competitive for the future life. To work outsidethe academic world in relevant professions can not only get the student’s familiar with society from where what is most needed and what can be put into the second place in their studying field can be determined, but also improve their experience and ability to solve a specific problem in practical ways.There is a lesson from one common Chinese student, he really did well in theuniversity and often got the highest score, however he was too concerned with the knowledge in books, this concern made him reluctant to pay attention to common field affairs. With a good opportunity he entered a high-tech company after graduation and were surprised to see that there were so many devices he'd never seen, on the contrary, some other guy with normal test score but moreexperience in practical courses did the job with ease. Had he spend more time working outside the academic world, things would be much better.

There were also some other advantages of such activities, for one thing, one can learn with more interest, working in factories or companies canbring us a new world, incite our creativity and inspiration, compared with, to stick before the table turning over the thick book is more or less boresome.For another, one can get more opportunities and job offer after school, since he/she contacts and communicates the society more often. Moreover, such activities can act as a catalyst to master our knowledge by touching the lively examples: How theories serve for everyday life? What are flaws in some theorie sand how to improve them?

On the whole, the idea is provident, but we should not go too extreme, without the support of the academic knowledge, we could not understand the world precisely and thoroughly. The fundamental of the academic knowledgeis the basis of the further professions, when catching up real world trains, we should not ignore the construction of rails, as one rail can run many trains, a useful theory can provide many practical solutions, therefore, we should not give up our academic learning and indulge ourselves in a pure practical world.

In conclusion, the work outside the academic world is highly encouraged, it can bring students practical minds and skills, provide interactive studying atmosphere and more chances to know ,get to be known, theonly thing we must pay attention is to not go too far away from theory,academic knowledge generates practical usage, and practice value helps toimprove the academic world, we should always make the scale balanced.
