As we known, interest always is considered as the best teacher of students. Education which specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student may benefit students. However, when we mentioned the shortages of this kind of education, we know that it is the combination of interests and educator's instruction that will be a more effective kind of education.

Admittedly, interests play an important role in the process of students' learning. As we experienced, when we have interests in something we will devote all our energy into it and always feel no fatigue or boring about it. An example about a wunderkind-Mozart may illustrate it clearly. Because Mozart’s father is a musician, he knew music when he was very young. When he was 4 years old, he composed a piece of music which his father thought it as a true music and praised him for it. Undoubtedly, his father’s appreciation inspired young Mozart and sparked his interests of music and may at last promoted him to become a musician in future. In this circumstances, we can not deny that Mozart’s interests play an important role in the process of his success as a famous musician in history.

Though education that caters students' needs and interests can help them learning effective, it do have some disadvantages also. Firstly, the interests of a student may change from time to time. Sometimes they even can not express their true interests exactly, let alone study by themselves under the interests’ direction. Their interests' instability and changeable will undermine the interests' effect undoubtedly. Secondly, a young student's whimsy interests may against the moral or law if let them develop in their own way. When the student is young he may not discern the right and wrong, he will interest anything that attracts him no matter what an illegal or immoral one it is. At last, interests can not teach students cooperate with others and get along with others. As the development of the society, cooperation and communication is more important than ever before. So we can not emphasize the interests too much.

Considering this kind of education's feasible, it is obviously impossible to build this kind of education in nowadays. Let’s see that if we want to cater each student’s needs and interests, how many teachers should we have, we will know what an enormous work it is. What’s more, to cater every student will also require teachers have all kinds of knowledge and many measures to teach different students. It is impossible to teachers we have in our schools, at least in nowadays. In addition, when we come to the funding of education, we encounter another problem in building this kind of education. We would find that our funding which get from federal or state is far less than we can build an education that cater every student’s interests. Moreover, we are not necessary to build this type of education, for most fundamental curricula can provide to all of our students rather that to cater their interests.

In sum, we should not pay more attention to build a type of education to cater all of our students’ interests or need, for it has many disadvantages, it is impossible and unnecessary either. Instead, we should keep our eyes bright to find students’ good interests and to cultivate it under our current educational system. As the development of society, the ideal education-catering all students’ need and interests-may become true one day.
