1.       历史研究对我们日常行为及生活方式的指导作用。例子：很多古训教导我们什么该做什么不该做；春种秋收正是对前人耕种经验教训的总结；
2.       历史研究对我们命运的影响。
3.       最关键，历史研究对整个社会所起到的作用。

   Our life is involved in the history and is only a small part of it. The study of history not only has value to instruct our daily life as the author allege, but beyond the daily life, can affect our fate and furthermore guide the whole society in a right path.
    In our everyday life, we always get instructions from the history. The lessons left by the wise before us teach us the right way to live our lives. Through learning about these lessons, we know what we should do and what we should not do. The old saying "Only working and not playing makes Jack a dull boy" teaches us to find the balance between work and rest; "Knowledge is power" by Francis Bacon show us the importance of studying. The study of history not only instructs us the methods of living but teaches us in other aspects. Take agriculture for instance. In cultivation, when to sow, when to water the plants, when to reap and so on, all of these seems to speak for themselves. However, with deeper consideration, we will find that they are not as simple as they seems. Actually, the art of planting is the experience accumulated by the people before us through hundreds of years. The harvest attained by modern people should be attributed to the lessons and experience the history left.
    Beyond our daily life, the study of history affected our fates. Let us recall our memory to check how the history influence us. When we were little children, one of the most favorite things is sitting silently to listen to the story. Maybe there is no notion in our minds, however, actually these stories about historical heroes or historical incidence would indeed affect our whole lives. A child shocked by the intelligence of Isaac Newton may contribute himself to pursuing the mystery of maths; A child attracted by the music and the tenacity of Bethoon（Beethoven） may flirt himself to the career of music; A child interested in grand culture of history would choose archeology as a career. More or less, we once were affected by the historical story and it planted a sow in our hearts, when grown up, we get harvest from this sow.
   Furthermore, in my opinion, the most important function of the study of history is not just concerned about individuals but the whole society. The study of history can abstract the basic law of the conducts of the human beings as a whole and tell us as a whole where we should go. The records of history provide the materials for study, including all conducts of our ancestors. Through studying these materials, the scientists can make many discoveries such as when did the society set in, why did it come into being, how did it develope, and where will it go. After analyzing these discoveries, we can find the basic laws existing in them and utilize them to guide the path of the whole society.
   In sum, the study of history has great value not only for our daily life but for the fate of the human being as a whole. Learning about history would guide us individuals to live a better life, furthermore, it would lead the society to a more splendent future.
