TOPIC: ARGUMENT56 - Collectors prize the ancient life-size clay statues of human figures made on Kali Island but have long wondered how the Kalinese artists were able to depict bodies with such realistic precision. Since archeologists have recently discovered molds of human heads and hands on Kali, we can now conclude that the ancient Kalinese artists used molds of actual bodies, not sculpting tools and techniques, to create these statues. This discovery explains why Kalinese miniature statues were abstract and entirely different in style: molds could only be used for life-size sculptures. It also explains why few ancient Kalinese sculpting tools have been found. In light of this development, collectors should expect the life-size sculptures to decrease in value and the miniatures to increase in value.
WORDS: 389

The arguer concludes that collectors should expect the life-size sculptures to decrease in value and the miniatures to increase in value. To support the conclusion, arguer points out recently discovered molds of actual bodies which were used to create life-size clay statues of human figures made on Kali Island. However, the argument relies on a number of doubtful assumptions and is therefore unconvincing.

First of all, the arguer believes that molds discovered by archeologists become the only method to produce human figures, but the arguer neglects following facets. Whether molds were used widely and one may wonder when using molds, can ancient Kalinese artists still used sculpting tools and techniques. Meanwhile, it is possible that human figures' heads and hands were made in molds and other parts by sculpting tools and techniques. Although few ancient Kalinese sculpting tools have been found, it could be one reason that tools have still not been discovered or tools were destroyed by wars. Before shown comprehensive research, collectors should not accept this argument.

Secondly, the argument concludes without adequate evidence that the reason of Kalinese miniature statues were abstract and entirely different in style, were used other method but not molds. Perhaps, in the religious program ancient people always use the ancient life-size clay statues of human figures, and on the other hand, miniature statues used in other occasion. They own different way. It is probably that Kalinese artists--made miniature statues--have their special producing method so that miniature statues became abstract and different in style.

Finally, the arguer fails to conclude that the method of producing figures determines the value of life-size sculptures and miniatures. To some degree, most collectors pay more attention on the meaning provided by figures. For instance, it is important for a collector that if the number of this kind statue is scare, whether some famous person had collected this statues and how about the quality of this figure. Because some factors together determined figures value, the arguer is too hasten to make an unreasonable conclusion.

To sum up, the conclusion is unconvincing as it stands. To strengthen it, the arguer must provide efficient evidence that molds of actual bodies were actually used in ancient life-size clay statues of human figures and the method of producing figures determines the value of life-size sculptures and miniatures.

The arguer concludes that collectors should expect the life-size sculptures to decrease in value and the miniatures to increase in value. To support the conclusion, the arguer points out those recently discovered molds of actual bodies which were used to create life-size clay statues of human figures made on Kali Island. (这句有点不通。建议:the arguer points out that the recently found life-size clay status of human figures on Kali Island were discovered to be made from molds of actual bodies )However, the argument relies on a number of doubtful assumptions and is therefore unconvincing.( 个人认为这句话很好)

First of all, the arguer believes that molds discovered by archeologists become(不太好,不如用were) the only method to produce human figures, but the arguer neglects following facets(facts?)
. Whether molds were used widely and one may wonder when(while会不会好点) using molds, can ancient Kalinese artists still used(use )sculpting tools and techniques. Meanwhile, it is possible that(the) human figures' heads and hands were made in molds and other parts (were made) by sculpting tools and techniques. Although few ancient Kalinese sculpting tools have been found, it could be one reason that tools have still not been discovered or (tools这个应该可以不要) were(been?) destroyed by  wars(似乎不能说by war,所以可能不说更好). Before shown comprehensive research, collectors should not accept this argument.

这里第一句如果直接表明反驳态度是不是会更清晰一点呢?比如First of all, the arguer's assuption that the molds discovered by archeologists can represent the method to produce life-size clay status of human figures is unconvincing by neglecting following possibilities
