Which factor plays a crucial role to the whole society on earth? The speaker claims that it is the children's socialization today that determines the destiny of society. The speaker also points out that we have not ye learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society, which is quite depressing as the speaker asserts. It is true that how children are socialized is to a large extent responsible for the destiny of society, however, in my point of view, it does not determine the society. In addition, the assertion that we have not learned how to raise children who can contribute to a better society is also imperious.
Admittedly, how children are socialized is fundamental to the development of society. As we know, socialization is an abstract conception that contains the teaching from family, the formal education from school, the intercourse with individuals or groups, etc. Of course, what parents a child has, what education a child receives and what companies a child is getting along with to some extent influence what kind of adult the child will be in the future. As we know, the children who have a decent education-in other words-are well socialized, are more inclined to grow up as polite, virtuous and competent adults, who are, of course, more indispensable to the destiny of society.
However, on the other hand, there are some other relevant aspects other than children's socialization that make a child qualified for society. Consider Gandhi, Father of India, who had contributed profoundly to the independent of India. In spite of his education background as a law student in British, his struggling for the elementary rights for Indians results from his inner conviction that every human being is equal in the world rather than his socialization. Additionally, his constant learning is also helpful for his establishing of grand ideal to saving the compatriots. For that case, it seems clear that the inner belief, the great courage, the insistent learning by oneself, just mention a few—all of which are crucial to the development as well as how much they can contribute to the society.
In addition, consider the statement that our society fails to raise children who can establish a better world, which is not accord with the pragmatic condition at this time. As far as I am concerned, “a better society” refers to a world embraces diversity, cooperation, legitimate competition in which people can earn a finer living. At present, our society not only teaches children the technologies and skills but also the open mind to adapt and change the diverse outer world. We have already raised the youngsters who can better solve the issues—such as the sex discrimination, the environmental problems, and the International communications—far more rationally and successfully than our forefathers did. Therefore, I concede that there are still several problems with our ways to bring up children;nevertheless the actuality for our society to cultivate better children is delectable to a large extent.
All in all, in my point of view, although socialization of children is significant to the society; however, other aspects also contribute to the destiny of our society. Yet, the present situation of children’s socialization is fairly satisfiable, our society should improve it and push the society to a better one. |
