I agree with the author that the beginner has much more chance to make important discoveries in the field of inquiry. Because beginners have little or nothing to hesitate and have much more chance to get into a field one is interested in, while the experts remain in their specialized area for long.

Admitted that the expert has much knowledge and experience in the research field, and thus could make more possible important discoveries. For instance, an expert in the field of water treatment may have a certain incomparable ability in the process of dealing with the data collected from the experiment, compared with a green hand which may spend a lot of time on this and even cannot get out the right interpretation. Thus the advantage of the expert in the research area is obvious.

However, we cannot deny that the beginners have less restrictions and worry-abouts when they step into the inquiry than the so-called experts. A good case in the point is that many great physicians and mathematicians who made their lives' most brilliant discoveries are very young, such as Einstein, Plank, Archimedes, and so on. The beginners just take time to take in the knowledge and spare no efforts in their research, they may succeed quickly and easily, compared with the experts' knowledge learned a long time ago which might out of time and even make the old expert cannot accept new things. In addition, the young beginners are almost full of energy when they begin a new task for they are stronger and healthier, thus may have advantage when they begin the task at the same time with the expert who has spent so much time to become an expert. Hence, the young beginners may be more easily to get the new discoveries than the experts.

Furthermore, the chance for the beginners is much more than the specialized man who has worked in a certain area for long. Just imagine that when a new visitor get into a totally unknown place, what may be his or her first choice is hard to say. But just because of this, one has more chance to step into to a land that might be the beginning of a totally new subject, there every new discovery ,which may just takes a little time to think or considerate ,could become a great thing in the scientific world. While the old have little chance to advert to other new from his or her field which might have spent his or her whole life. So, the chances for the beginners are unprecedented more.

In conclusion, the author's point is reasonable as presented above. For the advantages of the beginners when they inquiry into the research area, there will be more chance for them to discover new things than the experts.
