I agree with the author's claim that both parents and communities should be involved in the local schools, and often the education is thought to be the only thing for professional educators. Because the student does not only live in the school but spend much more time in the society including the communities and their family.

To begin with, the education system is a traditional system responsible for  passing down knowledge and culture essence which can be easily thought to the only one responsible for the students development once the students are sent to school. One needs look no further to find another example is that most of the parents and the society in China will condemn the educators if their students do not perform well even when the students are out of school. Because they consider that the scale to evaluate a education system is not only depend on the knowledge the system gives to the students but also the moral standards .Hence, the society place too much emphasis on the functions of the education system.

Second, the professional educator’s ability has its own restrictions. For instance, they cannot control the time after the students out of the school. The education is a mixture not only including knowledge, but also the students' ability to learn, the persistence, the love, and the interest. All these abilities cannot just get from school but much more depend on the society. A good case in point is that many of the students' scores are amazing high, but cannot even deal with their own business. This is not merely a problem of the educators' but also the parents' and even the communities'.


Admittedly, the educators have much affection on the students, but the most important part is their parents and community, they are the students' teacher for a whole life. No one can deny that the students will not stay in the school or university for a life, they should and must get out of the narrow education school and get used to the society. Only there can they learn much more and will at last know the true function of the professional educators. The students must be their lives owner under the help the educators, the family and the communities, instead of depending on the education system only.

In sum, just as the author asserts, education is not an educator's affair, it calls for cooperation from the society and family. Only the three or more can work together effectively can the students benefit most.
