in this analysis ,the author assumes that the building of a new expressway can promote the economical growth in the city , based on which he conclude that city residents should vote for “yes” on the state governor’ proposal to build a new expressway ,to support his assumption , the author cited some facts and evidences about the benefits of the new expressway .the argument seems smooth and logical at first ,but further examination reveal that the reasoning was critically flawed in several respects as it is stands .

first and foremost ,suppose the assumption that the new expressway was helpful in promoting the economy of the city is correct , the conclusion based on which drew by the author was unwarranted .the recommendation depends on another  assumption that no alternatives means of promoting economy are available ,yet no evidence is offered to substantiate this assumption .it is entirely possible by means of lowing business taxes to  encourage local industry or to attract other industry that activate the local economy that the goal can be reached . .moreover ,government might be able to pay more attention on the local industry and provide more support including some financial support , intellectual support , high technology support to help develop the local economy . besides , the third  new industry which leading the trend of the modern economy and have a prosperous economy perspective could be increased  , including some service industry , more travel industry .

secondly , the assumption that to build a new expressway can promote the local economy is poorly supported .
initially , the direct link to the city does not mean a more frequent delivery and a less running out of stock ,it is entirely possible that because of the convenience of the new expressway , there are more transportation are attracted to take the expressway and thus leading to more traffic and lower frequency of the delivery of the supply .besides , maybe  because of a possible booming low price purchasing of the goods , the stock might still be run out though there are sufficient supply than ever before .or it is possible that because of the decreasing stock of the head distributor , the stock of the retailer will properly suffer a limitation of a stock . moreover , a shortage of the material of the manufacturer have a scant causal relationship of the expressway , it may because of the total amount of material are decreasing that lead to the shortage of the material .

then ,no evidence show that the current transportation system are not sufficient enough to hold the smooth  runny of the city , whether a new expressway are great needed  are far away form clear , maybe the current expressway system are sufficient and there is no need to build a new .besides, there are no evidence supporting the attraction of qualified works , maybe the salaries here was not as high as other cities which will provide plenty of employment , even if the salaries are quite encouraging , what about living condition , the weather ,the natural environment , it is air here detrimentally polluted ? what about the water quality of the resident ,how about the public facilities here ? the   welfare ?the lever of living condition ?even  there are a flux of people who moved here , there are no evidence that they will settle in the outskirt , and they will have to use expressway to commute to work , maybe they will choose to live in the city and not have to take the advantage of the new way , maybe other transportation as subway , public buses whose route are not linked to the expressway . are mo
re convenient due the heavy traffic of the new expressway .without ruling out such factors , the author can hardly convince me of his claim .  

next , no sigh of employment of the local workers to build the expressway are showed , maybe there are no such unemployed  due to the booming business benefited full employment ,or lacking of some professional workers .besides , to build a expressway , the economical element are not the only one to consider , maybe the building of the new expressway will have undesirable effect on the environment of the place , deforesting may take place to provide more land to build a new road , the emitting of some waste , which in a long term will destroy the local economy for government will have to pour large amount of money to restore the environment in order to survive , for more residents maybe leave the place due to the undesirable natural living condition .besides , the possible tore down of the residents or some other buildings near the new expressway ,or the noises of the projects will properly irritate the near by residents ,and have a negative effect to the society’s harmony .

finally , this is a logically flawed analysis , to better assess the recommendation , I will need to know the current condition of the place , the needs of the building of a new expressway , the potential people who will take advantage of the road , the cost and benefits of the new expressway
,the possible negative environment effect of the project .
