In contemporary society, as the development of media, scandals are increasing and transmitting quicker than ever. Are the scandals useful to all fields? The speaker claims so because scandals can focus people's attention on problems which the speaker and reformer could not. In my point of view I agree that adequate scandals in politics and academia are useful, but if people uncover every kind of scandals and pay too many attentions on it, it is also harmful to politics and academics. And [Further,] scandals in the field of entertainment(不知道什么词恰当) have no means for the society.(多余了)
To begin with, a moderate amount of scandals in some certain field will benefit us a lot. In the field of politics, since the scandals revealed some secrets of the officials, scandals can not only leave more democracy to the politics but also promote the officers’ political virtue. Suppose, if some officials want to grasp some extra benefits and disobey the law, the powerful scandal system can be a caution to him. In this way, scandals can keep the officials concern more about the profits of the overall population[我感觉这里用这个短语怪怪的,the mass] rather than his personal interests. When it comes to the academic field, scandals will uncover some unfaithful scientific research and leave the research field more truth. A point of example if a Korea biologist, whose paper about the stem cell firstly published on the Science, later was found to be a counterfeit [as a]result. This scandal focus people's attention on the scientists and their truth which make the scientific research field more truth and less falsehood.
Nevertheless, sometimes scandals are also harmful to the politics and academic areas. For example, if the media's goal is to attract more audience and most of these scandals are about the personal life of a scientist or a politician, then both[not only] the personal lives of these people will be disturbed [by negative news and constant interviewers]but also their work will be delayed.(他们的工作被耽误的原因?可以再写清楚一点) As Bill Clinton for example[as…for example这个短语我没有看到过哦…], during his tenure, he has a great contribution to the development of America. However, since he is just an ordinary person in his personal life, he do what the others might do, that is to have sexual relationship with the other women. Although this is immoral, it is just his personal affair. Both the court and media spend too much time and money on this scandal and also they try to uncover some other personal immoral affair about him.[但问题是他代表一个国家的形象,他有了这样的问题受到弹劾或许也是应该的,我觉得在表达反对意见的时候最好是有保留的反对] These have a negative effect on the government’s work and also disturb Bill's personal life and harm his privacy. In short, scandals about the personal life of politicians and scientists will benefit little about the development of a nation and science especially when we pay too much attention on these personal scandals.
(Additionally, there is a kind of scandals that is nothing but just for fun. The scandals about actor, actress, the singers' personal life is sometimes just the media, newspaper's way to attract more audience. They contribute little to our life and some of these scandals will harm the famous figures. For example, some scandals give the singers, actress too much pressure, which make them suffered some mental disorders.) 这一段看来是有点多余了。[也不会多余,只是分析没有铺开,再展开一点就好了,最好不要总是用SOME很没有说服力]
To sum up, we need moderate scandals which can serve as supervision for the democracy of a government and the truthful of a scientific result. But if we pay too much attention on some meaningful scandals, it will disturb the work efficiency of government and scientific research or even hurt them.[我觉得这篇文章的结尾比我最近看过的都要好]
