As far as everyone knows, children are the future of our society, so how we socialize children today determines the destiny of society. When we pay more and more attention to the intellective development of the next generations, we always ignore the development of their body and mentality. When we attach importance to their personal growth, we usually forget to remind them to think of the environment around them. When we emphasize the significance of competition, sometimes we overlook the spirit of cooperation which is as important as the awareness of competition. To bring out a better society, it is better for us to perfect the way of raising the offspring according to the problems exposed above.

The society needs constructors who are not only excellent in intelligence, but also have sound mentality and health body. Facing heavy pressure of school-entering, job-hunting and so on, modern parents strengthen the importance of scientific knowledge and techniques much to their sons and daughters, as a result of which, children are occupied by classes and homework everyday, neither by sufficient physical exercises nor by learning how to establish a right attitude to deal with both success and failure in their future life. If a society is full of people with weak body and sick mentality, it is hard for one to imagine those people could contribute their rich knowledge and experienced skills to create a harmonious and stable society.

It is very common to the students who live a life in most cases just in school or at home that they can not contact the world outside much nowadays. Less and less children care the environment around them, such as the political events, economic development and pollution problems etc. It is very perilous for our society, for it takes a risk of insufficient future hosts who could consider the present situations and existing problems in whole society and take the responsibilities to take effective measures to change the unreasonable part. The society could be better only in one case that everyone in it contributes to it, at least most of the citizens do. If the children never form the habit of thinking and understanding the social problems, it is hard for them to be responsible to solve the problems after growing up.

Because the fierce competitions company the individual’s whole life, it is much easier for children to realize that they will achieve success if they do better than others than to realize the coming of success is a result of teamwork. It is quite indifferent to the person who only cares the competitions whether others need help or not. In the complex society, cooperation is very important to complete an arduous task. A successful surgery needs the efforts from the surgeons, the nurses and the anesthetist. The rocket could be launched into the universal space for the collective wisdom from the designers, the manufactures and the operators. If the children only know how to compete, it will be hard for him or her to be more successful with the help of people in and outside his or her fields. Lack of cooperation, our society will not be as prosperous as what is now.

In sum, as one famous person said, “Children are the hope of future!” Whether our society could make more great progress than before, whether we will settle the existing problems tomorrow, whether there is a friendly relationship between people and people, even between people and nature in the near future, depend on our children who are prepared for the society by us. It is time to correct the improper places that have been discussed above in the present education which is offered by families, schools and the whole societies.
