Issue171

According to the title of the statement, the speaker assertsthat compared to people who try to pursue the public good, people who act fortheir own intellectual interests for their personal reasons are more likely tobenefit the whole world. I concede that sometimes people who pursue their owninterests benefit the rest of the whole world, but I insist that people who actfor the public good also make benefit contribution to the whole world.

To begin with, we can see that many people who pursuingtheir own interests made great contribution to the rest of the whole world inhistory. When Newton is a child, he saw an apple fall down from the tree, thisphenomenon arouse his interest in physics. In order to pursuing his owninterest, he studied hard to find out the reason of this phenomenon.Consequently, he built the Newton Three laws of motionand his achievement in physics benefited the whole world. We can also considerthe example of Einstein who had interest in physics too. Einstein spent all hislife studying and doing research in physics. His famous achievement the Theory of Relativity is a great contribution tothe whole world. In short, when people pursue their own interest, they may makecontributions to the rest of the world.

In the second place, we should also see that people whopursuing their own interests sometimes is harmful to the whole world. Becausetheir interests violate the benefit of other people. Hacker may be a goodexample to support my opinion whose interest is to make computer virus todestroy others' computer system from the using of internet. It is clear thatmaking computer virus satisfied hackers' interest, but a large amount of otherpeople's interests had been violated. In summary, sometimes pursuing purelypersonal interests may harm other people when the interest is contrast toothers.

Finally, people who trying to act for the public good almostalways benefit  the rest of world. Thereason is that the standpoint of these people is right, their purpose is topromote the development of the whole world and elevate all people's livingstandard. The previous president of South Africa Mandela is a person who actedfor the benefits of all black people in South Africa. To achieve his purpose,he had stayed in prison for many years. Consequently, after his persistingstruggle for the whole interests of black people, he gained the success to bethe first black president of South Africa and almost eliminated thediscrimination between races. Another example is Gandhi who worked for the independenceof all Indians but not his own interest. Under his lead, Indians achieved theirindependence at last. Besides these two examples discussed in this paragraph, many other people who worked for the whole world but not their own interestsalso make great contributions to benefit whole people.

To sum up, from what had discussed above, we can draw theconclusion that whether people pursuing the interests of their own or theinterests of the whole world, they both can benefit the whole world. However, people who pursuing their own interest sometimes do harmful thing to others.

According to the title of the statement, the speaker asserts that compared to people who try to pursue the public good, people who act for their own intellectual interests for their personal reasons are more likely to benefit the whole world. I concede that sometimes people who pursue their own interests benefit the rest of the whole world, but I insist that people who act for the public good also make benefit contribution to the whole world.

To begin with, we can see that many people who pursuing(pursue) their own interests made great contribution to the rest of the whole world in history. When Newton is a child, he saw an apple fall down from the tree, this phenomenon arouse his interest in physics. In order to pursuing his own interest, he studied hard to find out the reason of this phenomenon. Einstein spent all his life studying and doing research in physics. His famous achievement, the Theory of Relativity, is a great contribution to the whole world. In short, when people pursue their own interest, they may make contributions to the rest of the world at the same time.

In the second place, we should also see that people who pursuing their own interests sometimes is harmful to the whole world. Because their interests sometimes violate the benefit of other people. Hacker may be a good example to support my opinion whose interest is to make computer virus to destroy others' computer system from the using of internet. It is clear that making computer virus satisfied(s) hackers' interest, but a large amount of other people’s interests had been violated.(不太理解为什么用过去时) In summary, sometimes pursuing purely personal interests may harm other people when the interest is contrast to others.

Finally, people who trying to act for the public good almost always benefit the rest of world. The reason is that the standpoint of these people is right, and their purpose is to promote the development of the whole world and elevate all people's living standard. The previous president of South Africa Mandela is a person who acted for the benefits of all black people in South Africa. To achieve his purpose, he had stayed in prison for many years. Besides these two examples discussed in this paragraph, many other people who worked for the whole world but not their own interests also make(made) great contributions to benefit whole people.

To sum up, from what had discussed above, we can draw the conclusion that whether people pursuing the interests of their own or the interests of the whole world, they both can benefit the whole world. However, people who pursuing their own interest sometimes do harmful thing to others.

全文结构清晰 思路清楚 论证的挺好的 举出了不少恰当的例子 但还要多注意一些语言
