The greatness of individuals can be decided only by those who live after them, not by their contemporaries.

Can a person’s greatness be decided only by those who live after the person as the statement suggest? I consider that, with our world increasingly prosperous, in many cases the greatness of individuals can be decided by their contemporaries. In my view, however, there are too much obstacles to realize the greatness of a person. Some of them may make no contributions to contemporary world, but play a vital role in science or arts in out today’s society. Consequently, people who live after the individuals can decide the greatness of them.

On the one hand, in my experience as a student, when I was young I knew that from my history book--many great giants were recognized by their contemporaries. Thus, some of them have a poor life; instead, they will be always alive in our mind. Few would disagree, for example, bookman’s rejection of  Nietzsche as ridiculous because he did not conform to classical principles of philosophy. Or, consider the complete dismissal of Van Gogh’s opus by the esteemed people of his time. Both of them were very poor in their times, and also had nothing to do with their times. But the two giants are recognized by everyone in today’s world. I consider that it is because of the history environment and other limits in their times. According to Albert Einstein, “the creative, sentient individual, the personality alone creates the noble and the sublime, while the herd as such remains dull in thought and dull in feeling.” Consequently, we have reason to believe that people who live after a giant can recognize how great he or she was.

Another reason why I agree partly with the speaker’s characterization of people who live after individuals can decide their greatness is that it is a long-term process to decide one’s greatness. In many cases one’s statement and thought could be recognized to ridiculous and even evil, but the one may be decided to a giant who made very contributions to the world. What was wrong with the contemporaries? I consider that it is because of the history environment and other limits in their times. Perhaps the paradigmatic example is Copernicus and his sun-centered system. In his time, commons could not agree with his statement because of their poor knowledge about science and the religion rules. But today, people have enough knowledge to believe his sun-centered system. Thus, it is wise and justifiable to decide the greatness of individual in a long-term process.

On the other hand, as mentioned at my opening, in dealing with the greatness of individuals, one cannot but admit that with our world increasingly prosperous more and more individuals can be recognized by their contemporaries--for example, Newton, Edison, Curie, and of course Einstein. Edison’s inventions had been well known since he made them, saying nothing of Einstein’s theory. In this light, there can surely be no doubt that individuals can be recognized by their contemporaries, if the most people in their times have enough knowledge to recognize their standpoints and thoughts.

To sum up, I fundamentally agree that the greatness of individuals can be decided by those who live after them. However, whether their contemporaries can decide their greatness must be addressed on a case-by-case basis.

Can a person’s greatness be decided only by those who live after the person as the statement suggests? I consider that, with our world increasingly prosperous,句式不对,建议改为(with our increasingly prosperous world,) in many cases the greatness of individuals can be decided by their contemporaries. /这里前后两部分转折有点突然,前后意思不是区分的特别清楚/In my view, however, there are too much obstacles to realize the greatness of a person. Some of them may make no contributions to contemporary world, but play a vital role in science or arts in out today’s society(建议改成in the future after them. Consequently, people who live after the individuals can decide the greatness of them.

On the one hand, in my experience as a student, when I was young I knew that from my history book--many great giants were recognized by their contemporaries.
Thus, some of them have a poor life; instead, they will be always alive in our mind.(这句话的连贯性差了点,好像没有什么明显的因果关系) Few would disagree, for example, bookman’s rejection of  Nietzsche as ridiculous(缺少谓语动词,且这里as后面应该是跟名词而不是形容词) because hehe是指Nietzsche吗?给人歧意。) did not conform to classical principles of philosophy. Or, consider the complete dismissal of Van Gogh’s opus by the esteemed people of his time. Both of them were very poor in their times, and also had nothing to do with their times. But the two giants are recognized by everyone in today’s world. I consider that it is because of the history environment and other limits in their times.According to Albert Einstein, “the creative, sentient individual, the personality alone creates the noble and the sublime, while the herd as such remains dull in thought and dull in feeling.” Consequently, we have reason to believe that people who live after a giant can recognize how great he or she was.
段首观点与后面论证过程不符,与本段小结也不一致。
Another reason why I agree partly with the speaker’s characterization of people who live after individuals can decide their greatness is that it is a long-term process to decide one’s greatness. In many cases one’s statement and thought could be recognized (
to be) ridiculous and even evil, but the one may be decided to a giant who made very contributions to the world.(好好感觉这句话,修改下,前后变化有点不衔接)What was wrong with the contemporaries?I consider that it is because of the history environment and other limits in their times.』跟第二段完全一样的一句话。建议改下句式或换个说法。Perhaps the paradigmatic example is Copernicus and his sun-centered system. In his time, commons could not agree with his statement because of their poor scientific knowledge about science and the religion rules. But today, people have enough knowledge to believe his sun-centered system. Thus, it is wise and justifiable to decide the greatness of individual in a long-term process.

On the other hand, as mentioned
at my opening(好像没有这种用法), in dealing with the greatness of individuals, one cannot but admit that with our world increasingly prosperous more and more individuals can be recognized by their contemporaries--for example, Newton, Edison, Curie, and of course Einstein. Edison’s inventions had been well known since he made them, saying nothing of Einstein’s theory???.In this light, there can surely be no doubt that individuals can be recognized by their contemporaries, if the most people in their times have enough knowledge to recognize their standpoints and thoughts.)这句话里我想问你几个问题:你的论证中什么地方提到大多数人有足够的知识?还有知识可以可以认识他们的观点和想法?

To sum up, I fundamentally agree that the greatness of individuals can be decided by those who live after them. However, whether their contemporaries can decide their greatness must be addressed on
a case-by-case basis.(又一个新名词,最好给个说明)
