TOPIC: ISSUE185 - "Scandals-whether in politics, academia, or other areas-can be useful. They focus our attention on problems in ways that no speaker or reformer ever could."

1.部分同意
2.丑闻的有用之处1:让世界更真实(客观)
3.丑闻的有用之处2:让人们更深刻得认识到世界(主观)
4.丑闻会带来的危害。
5.总结观点。

I agree that scandals sometimes are useful, because they open another window of the world to the public to perceive. By doing this, the world becomes clear and people clairvoyant. Nevertheless, in some cases, scandals might bring about mess to the world.

As I see it, by providing scandals to the public, the world becomes clearer than before, since more truths are revealed. To support the point, here is a persuasive example.  A famous Korean Professor once claimed that he had cloned the first human embryo stem cell, which also caused a debate regarding human ethnics. Yet when the truth has been revealed, people know that it is only a cheat. Since the scandals bring us some truth and protect us from being worried about the inexistent problem, it is useful.

Other kinds of problems in academia such as plagiarism are likely to lead to low efficiency. If this kind of problems can be revealed as scandals to the public, the competent professors and students will be more willing to do research and bring more inventions to the world. In this sense, scandals are useful.

On the other hand, from the scandals, people begin to perceive the deep inside of the world: the decent people in front of TV might not be as good as we imagine. After their beautiful image, there might be a desire to act indecently. For example, once the most well-known people all over the world, Michael Jackson, are suffering from many accusations now.  If there is no scandals, people might still be fond of him simply because of his talent of music. Thus, the scandals approach the public to a rule that all people might do wrong sometimes no matter how wealthy or famous they are. Acknowledging this, a lot of things in the world can be explained without the help of speaker, one who might not mention a single word for his or her own interest. People have to find it with the help of scandals.

It is true that scandals sometimes are useful because they make the world clear and make people know how to consider the famous individuals, but it leads to undesirable outcomes in some cases. The scandal of President Clinton nearly drew him to resign, which might result in the unstable situation in America and slow down the economic development. In that case, scandals are not helpful at all. Human beings are born to make some kind of mistakes, so it is impossible for one to keep everything going right, even he or she is a president. If the mistake does not weaken the contributions of the one, it should be neglected. Therefore, when scandals are focused on some trivia and threaten the interest of the majority of people, it certainly is not helpful.

In conclusion, when scandals do not damage the interest of most people but to the contrast, bring about a world with more truth, they are useful.

(这两段的观点是一样的哦,所以我认为还是合成一段吧Other kinds of problems in academia such as plagiarism(这一点跟我讲的一样,不过plagiarism这个单词我刚刚还动用了下金山才知道,学习!) are likely to lead to low efficiency. Thus, the scandals approach the public to a ruleapproach,作动词的时候,是approach sb. for/about doing sth.;作名词的时候,approach to 比如: a new approach to teaching languages that all people might do wrong sometimes no matter how wealthy(wealthy doing wrong 事实上是没有说服力的??) or famous they are. Acknowledging this, a lot of things这里是有语法错误的?If we acknowledge this,…… in the world can be explained without the help of speaker, one who might not mention a single word for his or her own interest(这句话,我没了解你要表达什么样的意思). People have to find it with the help of scandals. It is true that scandals sometimes are useful because they make the world clear and make people know how to consider the famous individuals, but it leadsthey lead to undesirable outcomes in some cases. The scandal of President Clinton nearly drew(drove?) him to resign, which might result in the unstable situation in America and slow(slowing?) down the economic development. In that case, scandals are not helpful at all. Human beings are born to make some kind of mistakes, so it is impossible for one to keep everything going right, even he or she is a president. If the mistake does not weaken the contributions of the one(one’s contribution?), it should be neglected. In conclusion, when scandals do not damage the interest of most people but to the contrastby contrast, in contrast, on the contrary, to the contrary??, bring about a world with more truth, they are useful.
