Since professional educators have more knowledge in pedagogy and are capable of delivering congruent value systems, no other groups in the society could challenge their authority in education or even couldn't we find a counterpart in this extant world. Early in ancient Greece, people had the comment[concept] to send their children to the knowledged[erudite] ones, the place considered as the precursor of schools. And only those most intelligent ones could be regarded as the pedagogue. From Plato, Aristotle to any famous or unknown educators, they devoted themselves into the career and picked up a piece of wood onto the pile trying to develop a perfect system to make the new generation cultivated. However, education is not merely the process for untutored ones to get knowledge, but more importantly a procedure of nurturing the soul of human being and establishing a congruent social value system. There used to be a time that[when] home-education predominated in Europe and North America in early nineteenth century, which could also effectively impart knowledge to kids. Nevertheless, not after a long period did educational administrators find the aftermath of such separating knowledge-informing pattern, which included self-assertion, incompatibility with the society and conscience loss. Consequently, public schools and private boarding schools with professional educators got their reviving periods again.
Admittedly, professional educators should take the major responsibility among[in] education, it doesn't necessarily mean education could be leave only to [groups of删] them. Parents and communities are two indispensable complementary practitioners for carrying out this holy task. Being parents is more than a work of feeding up kids and providing them necessities. Parents are the first teacher for everybody. From our parents, we get the preliminary concepts of color, music, beauty and so on. Moreover, our first impression of love, reverence of life and tolerance comes from every day life with our dear parents or grand-parents. Nevertheless, involving parents and communities into the local school might trigger unpredictable problems in education. Common sense informs us that there would be great incongruity between parents and formal educational system. Take the curriculum as an example, radical Christian parents will no doubt reject courses based on Darwin's Revolution[evolution] Theory, or hardly could Muslim parents accept the fact their girls in sports-wears with boys in the stadium. And surely Mormon community would protest any school to imbibe monogamy to their teen-agers. Those discrepancies will inevitably undermine the efficiency of formal education and interfere[affect] the relationship between parents and children.
In sum, I agree with the speaker's conclusion that education should not only[be] left to those professional educators in schools or administrators.
