Can people learn by watching TV as much as reading books as the speaker asserts ? I concede that reading is not as important as before and in general learning TV holds advantage , but it goes too far to conclude that watching TV can be equal to reading in acquire of pure and basic knowledge .

Admittedly, television is a more efficient and effective tool in general learning that takes place in everyday life. The primary reason lies in that by virtue of modern broadcast tech, TV is more ‘live ‘  than any media based on words . With TV people can learn what are happening around the world and get a sight of it. From TV one can watch football games only seconds later than in the court, events that happen everywhere in the world can be quickly and clearly known by audience, disasters such as hurricane, flood in regions far away can soon be seen by people. All these can hardly be portrayed and revealed by writers, even the most skilled ones. Moreover, to many other things TV holds advantage too. Learning to cook behind the TV set is much easier than merely follow the recipe , quality of learning to speak a foreign language with TV surpass that of with books , speed of learning to repair something broken by TV is much faster than instruments . Thus, in daily life TV serve as a better way of learning than books.

Even in some formal, systemic and specific learning, or in other words, pure knowledge learning, the speaker’s assertion also has merit. For art students, it is impossible to learn to appreciate and criticize artic works without getting a whole sight of them, but works in forms of music, dance, sculpture, drama and so on can not be showed by books. By virtue of TV this can easily be achieved both in classrooms and in houses. This advantage is not limited in art and conditions in other fields are similar. To students major in nature sciences TV are also helpful. By TV programs, science students can learn the newest development in researches and studies; physic students can observe nature phenomenon in ocean, land, air and space; biology students can get a view of style, character, sizes of animals, plants and their cells, all of which is more direct and impressive than introductions in texts. Nowadays, TV has become an indispensable tool in most classrooms and greatly helps promote the quality of education.

However, it is too hasty to get the conclusion that students can learn by TV as much as books for some incomparable advantage of book and disadvantage of TV is not take into account. Since the ultimate goal of TV programs lies in appealing to audience, it is unlikely for producers to put much priority on those basic principles and theories which are usually difficult to understand but critical to students while related books fully contain both the theories and the way of how to justify them. From TV we realize the surprising power of nuclear weapons but the theory on which it bases rarely appears on TV because it is too hard to understand and few audience show interest about it. Besides, knowledge contained in books is much wider than in TV :  Much knowledge we need in learning can not be find in TV but in books this can be readily done and varies libraries offer every access to kinds of books.

In sum , the speakers assertion have merit when it come to general learning and superficial specific learning, yet , when with respect to deep learning , books play a more significant role than TV and in my view in pure learning TV can serve as a assistant to books .

Can people learn by watching TV(这是省略形式 ,不正式) as much as reading books as the speaker asserts ?

Learning to cook behind the TV set is much easier than merely follow the recipe (这个例子我喜欢), quality of learning to speak a foreign language with TV surpass that of with books , speed of learning to repair something broken by TV is much faster than instruments . Thus, in daily life TV serve as a better way of learning than books.

Even in some formal, systemic and specific learning, or in other words, pure knowledge learning, the speaker’s assertion also has merit. For art students, it is impossible to learn to appreciate (很拗口,看还有没有其他表达方式)and criticize artic works without getting a whole sight of them, but works in forms of music, dance, sculpture, drama and so on can not be showed by books. By virtue of TV this can easily be achieved both in classrooms and in houses. This advantage is not limited in art and conditions in other fields are similar. To students major in (是动词啊)nature sciences TV are also helpful.(这句话主语有问题) By TV programs, science students can learn the newest development in researches and studies; physic students can observe nature phenomenon in ocean, land, air and space; biology students can get a view of style, character, sizes of animals, plants and their cells, all of which is (是ARE)more direct and impressive than introductions in texts. Nowadays, TV has become an indispensable tool in most classrooms and greatly helps promote the quality of education.
(你这2段都是在讲述电视的好处)

(你全文讲到书的就这一句话,太少了.你观点很明显得偏向电视) 这段写的不够丰满,电视的缺点没有很好的展示,以及when with respect to deep learning, books play a more significant role than TV and in my view in pure learning TV can serve as a assistant to books 就你总结段的最后半句也没有很好的说明)

In sum , the speakers assertion have merit when it come(+S) to general learning and superficial specific learning, yet , when with respect to deep learning , books play a more significant role than TV and in my view in pure learning TV can serve as a assistant to books .

有些语言比较不地道.讲述书的太少,给人片面的感觉. 第2段个人觉得还不错

第三段写的的确不好,本来想对第二段做个转折,说明电视只起辅助作用,可是力度不够,写得就很像支持电视了,唉。。。。:(
