The claim that the video game company should buy the rights to produce a video game based on the soon-to-be-published children's book seems reasonable at first glance. After all, the arguer does offer some relevant evidence, and the assumptions weakening this argument are not without any merit. However, three important concerns, which he/she fails to take into account, may undermine the argument seriously.

In the first place, lacking more specific information about "Squirrel Power", it is impossible to assess if it will sell well and make an informed recommendation. Perhaps the writer tried to change his old ways of writing, then it is likely people cannot accept his new book as before. Meanwhile, maybe readers have been tired of his rigid books and don't intend to buy another one which may just be the same. The argument simply equates the new book with former ones, which is unwarranted and presumptuous. In the second place, the arguer unfairly assumes that the characters and story line of "Squirrel Power" would literally meet the requirements of a successful video game. He/she ignores the factors-- such as playground music, visual effects, the adaptation to various computer, and advertisement-- that may be more important than characters and story line in determining the success of a video game.

What further weakens the argument is without knowing the reaction of parents; we cannot accept the author's conclusion. As it mentioned, the book and video game are both aimed at children, then parents certainly have the very rights to pay for them, they may consider a book to be definitely good for the growth of children while a video game not. In that case, how can the arguer draw the conclusion that the company will make great profit on this game?

As it stands, this argument suffers from three critical flaws. To strengthen it, the arguer would have to demonstrate that "Squirrel Power" will be best-seller too. Furthermore, he/she must provide enough and acceptable evidence to rule out all the above-mentioned possibilities that might undermine the argument.
