Issue160"The most essential quality of an effective leader is the ability to remain consistently committed to particular principles and objectives. Any leader who is quickly and easily influenced by shifts in popular opinion will accomplish little."
  What qualifications should an effective leader have?The ability to remain consistenly committed to particular principles and objects,or easily influenced by shifts in popular opinion.According to the statement, an effective leader should be the former one.Obviously,people will find it nearly impossible to come to agreement on this highly controversial issue.In the last analysis.I am inclined to support the idea that an strong and effective leader should insist his principles and objectives,easily influenced by shifts in popular opinion will not succeed,however,an effective leader should also listen as many good advises as possible before making a decision.
  An effective should insist his or her own judgment,remain consistenly committed to particular principles and objects.That means a leader must have a long and correct prospective.During the confusional pieriod ,an leader must analysis the environments and situations as detail as possible.After a decision is made,the only thing an leader can do is to execute it immediately and not changed by shifts.Thus, the decision can take effect.When it comes to business field,take a famous company for example,this company want to create a new field to develop to escape from recent difficult and competive businenss situation,but what field will make the company benefit? After surveying the market ,the CEO want to invest to a new field which is not found by other competetors.However,every new things will be dangerous,especially for such a company which is in difficult situations now.Many staff prefer to choose some traditional products which is now hot in market,thus can make the company benefit.But the CEO has a long prospective, if choose a traditional field, there are so many competetors already , so the company has little advantage.They will only benefit for a very short period , they will reture to poor situation at last.On the contray, a new field has few competetors, they will be the lead company in this new field,though the beginning is obviously stuff.The CEO insist his idea,and persuade other staffs.Some years past,this company has been the NO 1 in the new field.If the CEO did not insist his judgement and plan,the company would still in poor situations or even wrose.
  On the other hand,a leader who is easily influenced by other opinions will accomplish a little.If a leader do not insist a idea or a plan,there must be a lot of waste,no matter time or money or other things.When a leader changed his plan,that means the efforts before is all useless.A famous leader said,(and I paraphrase):"Before making an important decision and plan,a leader must consider it in details.It is not gambling.If you make a error,you have to change your decsion and plan,that means the effort before is gone with the wind,you and your company will lose a lot,maybe even bankrupt."So,easily influenced by others and change decision is the biggest shortcomings for a leader.In other viewpoint , a easily influenced leader will make the staff confused,and make the company less effective.
  However, not influenced by other people is not equal to not to listen other good and useful advices and suggestions.Do not listening other suggestion is just like making a car in a closing house,it will not succeed.As I said above,a decision which a leader make is vital to all the staff and the whole orgnization.So the leader must consider it carefully .Listen other opioions and suggestions will help you to widen your eyes and mind,provide you good and useful methods.Also these opioions and suggestions will prevent you make errors.Through all of these,you can see the whole,and consider the plan and decision more clearly.This will help you make a wonderful descion and plan.
  From what has  been discussed above,we may  arrive at  the conclusion that an effective and strong leader should listen more suggestions and opioions so that he or she can consider the problem clearly and detaily.However, when the leader has made a decision and plan, do not easily influenced and changed it.That will make you lose a lot and accomplish a little.
