issue41【0806G-永不言弃小组】第6次作业 by worldbaby
word:  689   time:60    data:2007-12-31
syllabus
(1)television is becoming more and more important in our daily life. merits including the large cover of information, the latest trait of news, the easygoing nature with audio and video signals
(2)reading books is irreplaceable. aspects including the systematizing knowledge, and the elusive theory(examples of economic), and cultivate the ability (literary). also portable.educational dominantal form is books.
(3)combination: e-books
The author states that, due to the fact that people can learn as much by watching television as by reading books, television is superior to books. While I concede that the television outweighs the books concerning the large coverage and the latest traits and easygoing nature, but reading books provides with a deeper sight and systematized frame of knowledge, which enable us a keen perspective view of all the phenomena. So it is wrong to hold the author’s opinion, and the better solution is to connect those two ways of learning together.
First of all, television does play a significant role in contemporary life. Reviewing our life-habits, many people may find it a custom of manipulating the buttons of television and then having a quick browse of the programs after work. Habits reveal the potential demand of people nowadays. Concentrating on the television, it means the desire to obtain the latest news, which afford audience to keep abreast of the current affairs or entertainment programs, no less for relaxation than or materials for personal communications. Those aforementioned aspects can only represent part of the television's advantages. Other merits of television are as follows. On the one hand, television is born with its easygoing nature, such as educational channels, giving knowledge with audio and video signals. Take the discovering channel for example, when audiences turn to the program about animal world, it is easy of learning the animals society from the video records than that from abstruse textbooks. On the other hand, television offers the perception of being personally on the scene. when the spatial events or stirring tournaments are on, audiences can enjoy them before the television, instead of arriving at the site, which cost energy and money, still less whether the audiences are allowed to be presented.
However, the television can not be a perfect substitute of books, though it dominates large part of people's leisure time, bearing many virtues stated above. It is obviously reasonable when taking the education form into consideration. Junior, senior schools, and universities added televisions to their educational system, but none of which are able to make the expression of knowledge less elusive. What is more, the television acts just as a supplementary tool of books, causing that systemized theory and logical reasoning belong to the patent of books, which can not be introduced with the aid of television. For instance, the macroeconomic theory concerning the development of economic tells that sudden expansion of government expense will lead to the rise of the interest rate. The relationship can be induced through abstract model rather than broadcasting by television. The latter one would only provide with a series of scenes relating to people’s response to the increase of interest rate, such as a long queue of depositing in the bank and a prosperity state in the security company. Furthermore, reading books, especially classic books of masters will stimulate people's sense of imaging, while at the same time, images given by the television sapping such capability by implanting the films or soup operas, which are the products of directors’ imagination.
Since both paths surely owns its merits, combining with the television and reading books will definitely be a perfect way, in order to put the goal of maximizing the benefits of acquiring the largest amount of knowledge in the first place. Take the E-books for example, it is a mixed product of books and video from, with which exploiting all the merits of video form, namely the less cost and easily spreading, and avoid the disadvantages of television including inconveniently carrying and simply conveying. As a result, the optimal approach is to adopt those two forms side by side.
In summary, the development of technology bestows people with diverse ways of learning. The basic media for learning is still books, and both television and other video materials are complementary forms. It is worth pointing out that, to be a lively fish swimming in the sea of information, sipping what is needed and ruling out what is not essential, instead of submerging by the a tremendous amount of knowledge, is the proper attitude towards information wave.

The author states that, due to the fact that people can learn as much by watching television as by reading books, television is superior to books. While I concede that the television outweighs the books concerning the large coverage and the latest traits and easygoing nature(这两个词都不对哦,easygoing是形容人的性格容易相处,而nature是表示一个东西的自然属性,电视是人造的,应该用类似characteristic这样的词比较合适), but(这里有点不确定,whilebut可以连用吗?)reading books provides with a deeper sight and systematized frame of knowledge, which enable us a keen perspective view of all the phenomena. So it is wrong to hold the author’s opinion, and the better solution is to connect those two ways of learning together.

to learn,这个其实是后置的不定式主语) the animals society from the video records than that from abstruse textbooks. On the other hand, television offers the perception of being personally on the scene(这句不是很明白。。。). when the spatial events or stirring tournaments are on, audiences can enjoy them before the television, instead of arriving at the site, which cost energy and money, still less whether the audiences are allowed to be presented.

(后面这半句也不是很明白). 个人感觉这里应该是aremedia在这里应该是medium的复数) still books, and both television and other video materials are complementary forms. It is worth pointing out that, to be a lively(应该用living吧) fish swimming in the sea of information, sipping what is needed and ruling out what is not essential, instead of submerging by the a tremendous amount of knowledge, is the proper attitude towards information wave.

这篇和上一篇简直太像了,连结构都一样的,所以也没什么太多可评述的了~
