“The way people look,dress,and act reveals their attitudes and interests. You can tell much about a society’s ideas and values by observing the appearance and behavior of its people.”


The author holds the opinion that through observing the appearance and behavior of people, one can tell one society’s ideas and values ,which I suppose is very dubious. I can not agree what the author said. One can not judge a person by his or her appearance, additionally, it is impossible to see a society’s ideas and values through the way of observing appearance and behavior of its members.

First of all, I can not deny that one person’s look, dress, and act can reflect one’s attitudes and interests. As we can see in the life, different person with different job have different appearances. For example, the scholars are always wearing glasses ,and talking very gently. A successful businessman perhaps wears very luxury dress. A famous singer or actor may have a fashionable appearance. People can be recognized by different act and say. So in some degree to say , we do can see one’s attitudes and interests by look, dress and act more or less.

Secondly, if one judge a person by his or her appearance all the time, he will make false sooner or later. Nowadays, our society has became more and more open ,more and more multiple-culture, so we can see many people’s wearing don’t agree with their job. A beggar can wear much more better than a rich businessman. The modern society accept each different, personal dressings by using an open attitude. Besides, there are many people who are confined by many objective and practical conditions so that they can not wear personally. How can we clear their attitudes and interests? For examples, many large company require their employees to wear regular clothes.

Finally, even if we can not judge a person by the appearance, not to say tell about the society’s ideas and values. What is value? Value is one person’s beliefs, thoughts, and many factors that  will influence he or she how to do, how to say, how to think and etc. Different person will have different values, so how can we see one’s value by his or her appearances and behavior? Society allow its people to have different values. Obviously, society’s values are consisted of every members’ values , which is very multiple and different. If one want to know about a society’s ideas and values, he or she must live in it, so as to get the most precise information.

In sum, I can not agree the author’s ideas that we can see one society’s ideas and values by the means of observing the members’ appearance and behavior.  It is impossible to judge a person’s attitudes and interests by his or her appearance, also we can not tell about the values of one society by observing the member.

Secondly, (既然第二段是反着写的，这里不如干脆给个however更加利索和明白些)if one judge a person by his or her appearance all the time, he will make false sooner or later. Nowadays, our society has became more and more open ,more and more multiple-culture, so we can see many people’s wearing don’t（缩写问题） agree with their job. A beggar can wear much more better （为什么老在修饰级前再加个more…）than a rich businessman. The modern society accept each different, personal dressings by using an open attitude. Besides, there are many people who are confined by many objective and practical conditions so that they can not wear personally. How can we clear their attitudes and interests? For examples, many large company require their employees to wear regular clothes.

In sum, I can not agree the author’s ideas that we can see one society’s ideas and values by the means of observing the members’ appearance and behavior.  It is impossible to judge a person’s attitudes and interests by his or her appearance, also we can not tell about the values of one society by observing the member.

总体来说，思路还算是比较清晰的，先给个正的让步，然后两段批判，写的还是比较到位的，可是感觉缺乏一些更加有说服力的例子，如果能再添几个生动的例子的话，我相信效果会更加好的多~~~
