1艺术家创作了杰作，但评论家没有。

2但是，艺术家的作品不一定会被理解。

3于是评论家讲解、挑选作品的作用就很关键。

4同时，评论家也给艺术家反馈信息帮助艺术家完成杰作。

I admitted that it is the artist who gives society something of lasting value. However, I have to say that the critic do a lot in interpreting the true meanings of the great creations of artist.

We can say that from the creation of our world to the present days, no critics have ever make things of lasting value, but artist have created a lot. It is Van Gogh that created the famous painting "Sunflower", it is the Beethoven that composed the great symphony Hero and Fate, and it is the Stendhal who write my favorite novel The Red and the Black, which relates a young man's attempt to rise above his plebeian birth through a combination of hard work, deception and hypocrisy, only find himself betrayed by his own passion. This marvelous works are not created by critics, but by artists.

However, a perfect work of an artist must be involved with deep thoughts, which can not be easily understood by individuals. Take the "Sunflower" for example. If you ask someone to describe that painting, the answer you will get is probably that it is beautiful. But as a painting, which have a long influence to the later painters, it can not only be beautiful. It is same to my favorite novel, The Red and the Black. When I first came to it, I just find it just a story telling about the life of a young people. So, it is difficult for individuals to understand the deep meaning of a work.

Therefore, the critics came out. They interpret the deeper meaning of a creation of work. As for me, I finally know the deeper meaning of The Red and the Black after reading fantastic reading notes by a famous critic. And after that this novel has a great influence on me and become my favorite. The critics also do a lot to help us in choosing which to read. As the booming of knowledge, it need a lot of time to find good ones from sea of products.  Take the movies for example, every year there were thousands of products from numerous corporations, and it will be hard for us to see them all. Thanks to the work done by critics, we can easily find valuable one quickly.

In addition, the feed back from critics to artists will do a lot to improve the quality of artists. If there was no critic, the artists can not get feed back. Thus, he will not know how to improve his works. But critics have showed the flaws of their work, and there is a goal for artists to reach. This will do a lot to the appearance of works of lasting value.

In sum, it is the artist who create things of lasting value. But in the same time, the critic conveys the values to the society.
