Agree or disagree: Getting advice from the older friends is more valuable than getting advice from friends at your age. (2007.8.11)

It is inevitable that man will encounter some problems that he con not deal with on his own, he has to resort to his friends and get suggestions. Along with the issue rises a hot debate over whether the friends from whom we get adverses are older ones or at the same age with you is better. When it comes to the complex theme, different people have different opinions due to their distinctive backgrounds and experiences. Some people think that the older friends are better. As far as I am concered, contray to the opinion of many people, consulting friends at your age will benefit more. The resons supporting my side are listed as below.

First, peers' similar experience with you is helpful to make reasonable suggestions. Because of the same age, peers tend to contract the resamblance stuffs with you, such as Blizzard Entertainment, Ipod, and so on. Compared with the older friends, the friends at the same age with me will show much in common. Peers tend to have the same taste on the clothes style, and the same interest of watching the NBA. All these backgrounds would come into effect when a suggestion is asked to give. Friends at the same age will consider the problems more from your perspective, taking into consideration tht their comprehensive understanding of the particular situation I am in. As a result, it is more likely that a better proposal will be made.

Second, friends at my age would have no generation with me, therefore the communication would be definitely effective. Because of the older friends' a little old age, a generation gap between us is never impossible. So I would have a limited oppotunity to get proper recommendation from them and the reason is not lied on the fact that they did not think about the problems thoroughly but on the point that they did not understand what I am talking about. The lack of understanding or differences between the older people and younger people eventually lead to the failure of the commuication. All too often we observe that one is going to purchase a computer just for fun, then he consults his friends on the vedio-card, the LCD, and so forth. The recommendations from friends would generally be divided into two distinctive categories. One is to buy a fully-equipped computer, the other one is to buy a comparatively poorly-equipped computer; the former one comes from the friends at your age, of course, the latter one comes from the older friends. From my perspective, the suggestion from the friends at my age are much more valuable.

In sum, asking for suggestions from the friends at my age is much more significant than from my older friends.
