High schools, colleges and universities should spend less time teaching about general subjects and spend more time teaching about preparing for future career and jobs.
Nowadays, there is always a heated controversy about the higher education. Some people think that colleges should use more time to teach students general subjects rather than imparting them to prepare for future career. But others have a negative attitude. As far as I am concerned, I agree that universities have no alternation to teach students how to get ready for their jobs and future career. My arguments for this point are listed as follows.
One of the primary causes is that the ultimate goal of higher education is to teach students how to earn a living by means of what have been learned. Colleges concentrate on the teaching of subjects in campus, at the same time, spend much more time on the impart students to set blueprints for their future careers. Nothing can be more important than the latter. It is too hard for us to imagine that a student mastering a variety of subjects, do not draft the future career for himself until the graduation. Therefore, universities should set up a course for teaching students how to prepare for their future careers and jobs. As a good saying goes well, in education we are striving not to teach youth to make a living, but to make a life. This proverb exemplifies us that colleges are obliged to impart students to how to design their careers and to struggle to create a living. In short, it can be said that, as a higher education constitution such as colleges, universities, and high schools, they are responsible for helping students to prepare for careers before the graduation.
Another reason for my point is that teaching about preparing for careers and jobs has been becoming imperative for students in campus. With the gradual evolution of society, it is more crucial for students to learn how to make a schedule for themselves and create their careers in society. Thereby, taking into account to the demand of students, colleges have the obligation to teach them the knowledge concerning how to prepare for career and jobs. Furthermore, it is high time that colleges helped students make a preparation of their future professions and career. because at present, as we all know, the global financial crisis has been triggered a severe impact on the employment around the world. It is of great necessity for students to realize their own careers and future occupations before they leave the campus. Consequently, we can say that the objective circumstances do require colleges to teach students about preparing for their careers and jobs as soon as possible.
In a word, recognizing the factors above, we should arrive to the conclusion that high colleges should impart students to how to make a preparation for future jobs and career.
