As one of my philosophical professor had said: "All the things in the human world have been rendered as the human color and formulated as human style," observation is often influenced by people's expectations or desires. However, it is rash to say that there is no such thing as purely objective observation. As a matter of fact, truth can be obtained through hard working or by the help of some instruments.

To begin with, I concede that it is hard for people to acquire purely objective observation since people are not impersonal beings and have emotions. Thus the results of observation are likely to deviate from the truth. Different people have different viewpoints for the same fact. That is why there are so many debates in our society. Take the famous Einstein-Bohr debate on determinacy-indeterminacy of quantum theories as an example, Einstein believed that quantum physics would eventually be replaced by a more determinate theory while Bohr accepted the finality of the probability-based quantum theory. Their contrasting opinions are due to their different subjective understanding to quantum physics. Therefore, no doubt each person's individual perspective, values, expectations or desires influence their results of observation to great extent.

However, although it is a difficult task to observe objectively, it does not follow that people can not find the truth. On one hand, the goal of science is to find the objective regularity in the world rather than alter the rules. After hard working, many scientists finally find the objective natural laws. To turn out our history books, we can find these examples everywhere. The theory of evolution proposed by Darwin is regarded as one of the great intellectual revolutions of human history. He revealed an objective principle of the world that species all evolved by natural selection from simple and preliminary condition. Another example, Newton found the universal gravitation, one of the famous rules in physics by observing the falling apple. If there is no purely objective observation in the world, our society might still stop at the primitive time.

On the other hand, with the development of science and technology, there are many scientific instruments which can help people gain objective observation. For instance, video camera can record what has happened and then reflect the real facts to people. With the help of it, policeman can easily find the authentic criminals. Many scientists now also resort to "auto-observers" to carry out observation. The auto-probe send back the data they observed then computers had the data analyzed, sometimes not even one human being is needed during the whole process. It is obvious that today people have more methods to overcome the impact of subjective factors.

In sum, since people are subjective we can not deny our emotion has a great impact on our observation. Yet with the help of some scientific instruments people have the ability to reduce the influence of emotion as much as possible and reveal more and more objective matters, and thus promote the advancement of the society.
