Do we pay enough attention on the intellect nowadays? Although I agree that the  intellect is very important today, the statement fails to account that people's emotion is as important as their intellect, for sometimes, we do things not only use our heads, but also our hearts.

Admittedly, intellect is very important for one's success, thus a person with high IQ is more easily to reach the acme of his/her realm. As a result, most parents pay much attention to the improvement of their children's intellect, sometimes too much. We are educated from a very young age; we go to school and also learn a lot of things from all kinds of children's palaces. We lean many subjects to develop our reasoning and other cognitive skills. Of course that's important for us. History tells us that many of the successful mem have high IQ, especially scientists, such as Elbert Einstain, one of the greatest scientists in the world, whose IQ, someone says, is much higher than normal persons. Thus we couldnot deny the usefulness of the intellect, however it is not always the case. A person with just high IQ may not able to gain much honor. In the modern times, their are many young children who show out their high endowment of intellect, then we call them young genius. However, many of the so called young genius are out of people's sight when they grow up. Obviously, that's not because of their lack  of intellect. Then why  cannot they be successful? The reanson is illustrated below.

Besides intellect, their is another important thing that we need to gain success, it is emotion, sometimes we say that we need a high point of EQ. In today's society, more and more people focus their attention to the EQ education. In many realms, especially business communications, one person's EQ is more important than IQ, for once you communicate with somebody, it is the business of emotion but not intellect. Thus an excellent manager always shows his/her high EQ instead of IQ. What's more, mantlity dieases are important social problems in modern society. A lot of psychologists are needed for the treatment of either young children or adults. That's a problem cannot be solved by intellect's education. Luckily, the problem has been focused by more and more people, and more attention has been payed to it.

In sum, people nowadays should pay attention to not only intellect but also emotion cultivating, in another word both IQ and EQ are important for one's success.
