提纲:1 电视和电脑是人们获取信息的有效途径
      2 旅游是需要亲身的体验,这是其他虚拟手段无法取代的
      3 信息时代的到来为旅游业的发展提供了前所未有的机会
It is universally acknowledged that because of television and worldwide computer connections, people can now became familiar with a great many places that they never visited. However, does this render tourism obsolete? Will people just satisfy with getting information about famous restores on television or internet? The answer would be less certain as "yes" simply. In fact, to a certain extent, the popular use of television and computer boosts the tourism.

There is no doubt that the internet and television provide unprecedented opportunities for people to learn about places thousands mile away without getting out their doors. Chinese people who never been to France can also enjoy the magnificent scene of La Tour Eiffel as long as they turn to the channel introducing it. The beauty of Fujisan and the mystery of Egyptian Pyramids can be appreciated by people all over the world as long as they put key words about the two places into computers which can search everything about these scenes such as pictures, introductions and even on-line videos. Furthermore, people can even experience virtual travel through specific software. However, all of these measures are only the necessary complements to real tourism and thus facilitates it but can never replace it and make it obsolete. The increasing zest of tourism for modern people and the ever prosperous tourism industry give a strong substantiation.

For real travelers, the personal experience is the most precious value of traveling and can never replaced by any virtual things. Skiing in the Swiss Alps, hiking the Grand Canyon in United state and diving around the Great Barrier Reef in Australia are totally different from watching on television or websites. Enjoying the wonderful sunshine and clear air of Hawaii or sitting in the gondola to appreciate the special water city-Wikipidia on Canal Grande must be personally experienced. Visiting the residents of Chinese tribes and tasting the food prepared by the warm hearted local people cannot be done without traveling. Meanwhile, traveling as a kind of good exercise not only provide the chance to enjoy the natural beauty but also can strong our body , benefit our health and enlarge our horizon. Consequently, comparing with passively viewing sceneries and episodes on televisions or computer screens, traveling has incomparable advantages.

Actually, the wider spread use of television and computer severs as a catalyst to propel the growth of the international tourism. The information obtained from television and internet incurs people's curiosity and inspiration about the distant, strange and interesting areas. Increasing numbers of Americans aspire to come to China nowadays, because they learn much more about Chinese long history and culture through modern media and the information that they had no access to reach before now turn into the chief reasons for their strong interests in China.

In sum, the claim that tourism will soon die out due to the arrival of the information age is impractical and ridiculous. Empirical evidence indicates that international tourism is experiencing a prosperity it never had before. The advent of information age, virtually, should be credited as the major contributor.
