The speaker contends that laws are divided into two kinds: just and unjust . And every individual should obey just laws and disobey unjust ones. However, I consider that it is quite difficult to categorize laws as just ones and unjust ones. But I agree with the statement that it is our responsibility to adhere to just laws.
Laws are legislated by a certain group which certainly cannot represent views of all the people. Consequently, there will be discrepancy on whether the laws are just or unjust maybe in accordance with their own interest or their value system which is shaped in the process of growing up. For example, Shanghai is a most modern metropolis of China and therefore there are laws directed at the control of the demographic composition. Such laws can also be found in many other big cities in China. However, these laws have been controversial since they have been in operation. Most of those who have registered permanent residence of Shanghai approve of the laws while those who are from other places and want to settle in this place consider the laws as unjust because they think the law has deprived some of their rights from which we can see that each law will have its supporters and also opposition, so how to judge a law just or unjust is no easy job.
Also, the criterion on the fairness of the laws is changing. As for Japan, those who are under 20 are considered under age and are forbidden from smoking and drinking alcohol according to the law. And most Japanese share the belief that this law is just. However these years more and more people tend to agree to make this age earlier to 18 not only because of the physical and psychological prematurity but also for the reason that some politician think that giving vote rights to those who are under 20 will be beneficial to themselves . Thereby, those who are between 18 and 20 can be seen as adults and the new law which gives them the freedom to drink and smoke will be seen as just to many people. In short, the criterion on the fairness of law will vary because of the needs of the citizens or the development of the society.
Although the complexities frustrates us to define whether a law is just or not , it is our duty to obey laws which are beneficial to the stability and the progress of the society. People cannot disobey these laws for the reason that they consider those unjust, which will offer the criminals pretext to violate the laws and jeopardize other's rights. For instance, robbers can explain that the reason why they committed the crime was because they considered the laws against robbery was unjust for the reason that the legislators did not have a clear picture of their poverty and the discrepancies between the poor and the rich would also threaten the society in other aspects, which is obviously unreasonable. Therefore, to those laws against drugs, murder, robbery, rape and other crimes which will certainly jeopardize the stability of the society we should show our resolution to comply to them and combine the efforts to make the society a better place.
In sum, the purpose of the legislators to constitute the laws is to provide the people in the society with a guide line which is essential to the development of the society. Hence, if the laws are really helpful to our living environment, we should adhere to them even if sometimes we have to sacrifice some interests, but it is worthy and even obligatory to do this.

Laws are legislated by a certain group which certainly cannot represent views of all the people. Consequently, there will be discrepancy on whether the laws are just or unjust maybe in accordance with their own interest or their value system which is shaped in the process of growing up.(建议中间用逗号停顿一下,别一口气读这么长的句子) For example, Shanghai is a most modern metropolis(cosmopolis也许?) of China and therefore there are laws directed at the control of the demographic composition(是人口暂行管理法之类的吗?). Such laws can also be found in many other big cities in China. However, these laws have been controversial since they have been in operation.
