Agree or disagree: Teachers should assign homework for students every day. (2007.1.13,学习教育类) For a long time, the controversial issue whether teachers should assign homework for students every day cause lots of discussion. Some educational specialists believe that assigning homework every day is the best way to stimulate learning, while others hold the opposite perspective that the every-day schedule is too tight for the healthy development of knowledge. In my point of view, I agree with the later one. I have several reasons to support my point. To begin with, admittedly, assigning homework every day could make students keep aware of the daily course, however, it may induce a boring mood toward learning of students. During a long day’s school time, with the interleaving of mathematics, physics, and science, students have already taken so many classes that their brain needs a period of rest. Therefore, in their inner sense, go home as soon as possible is undoubtedly they best way to get relaxation. Of course, it would be better when some days they have homework but others not. The point is, if teachers keep assigning homework every day, the mood of resisting in psychology grows incuriously. This mood performs a negative influence when they do their homework. At this time, it is not wise for teachers to assign homework because this work contributes nothing for learning knowledge but boring mood to study. Next, if teachers do not assign homework for students every day, it can not only provide a time of rest but also a chance to learn other useful and meaningful abilities. When students are not seized by the homework tie, their psychological and physiological gladness would release comprehensively. Under homework’s pressure, they have no time and heart to enjoy exercise and communication with friends. By playing basketball offers them a chance of taking some physical exercises which is essential in the maintenance of physical fitness as well as high spirits. It also enables them to cooperate with team members and also strengthens the sense of sharing happiness and bearing failures. These are all practical knowledge which can not be learned in reading and writing. Furthermore, it would be great if teachers distribute time at home reasonably. For example, when it comes to the final examination, teacher could make their schedule tighter than normal days. Or in terms of the emphases of each subject to assign homework would attract students attention and care to learn. From what discussed above, I firmly believe that teacher should not assign homework for students every day. They have to search a best way to make student develop their ability and skill among completed aspects. |
