TOPIC: ISSUE185 - "Scandals-whether in politics, academia, or other areas-can be useful. They focus our attention on problems in ways that no speaker or reformer ever could."

Scandal, literally is a degoratory and ironical word. And people are pleasure and perfervid to search and discuss kinds of scandal. This situation is never occasional, which contains more profound things. In my opinion, scandal is not only negative and bad thing, but also show a signal of reform.
Usually, scandals regardless of any field have a relatively big influence, thanks to the report of media.Like Bill clinton ,the former president of the U.S.A, had a affair with Lewinsky who was the intern of White House; Allen Iverson who is the NBA super star had a family violence to his wife for a long time etc, all became the topics people talked about fiercely.  Just because its striking influence,and it exposes those covert, unbeknown, ingrained and incorrigible problems, scandal normally will bring about reforms for improving and purifing our environment.
  Mention scandal, we have to take politics as example, almost all shocking scandals stem from politics. As human beings' leader,story of politicians and governments always can arouse billowy surge. Nixon, a "famous" name, could not be so famous if only he was the previous president of America. The real reason that made him famous was definitely the Event of Water Gate, which was absolutely a political scandal. In fact, its fundamental influence did not rest with that Nixon was forced to resign but it first uncovered that dirty and disgraceful competition among statesmen in American rim of politics, sequentially a storm of politics' circle was provocated. This reform changed American politics all-directedly, solved many long-term vice in circle of politics. As to Clinton I mentioned above, he even let American enact a new law, besides he also was one of two presidents who were impeached in A merican history.
Now that political scandal can bring about so strong reform, what about other  fields?
1999, a world-shaking scandal, bribe case of the International Olympic committee, attracted all people's attentions. This not only almost destroyed Chairman---Samalanch's reputation that was recoganized by the whole world in that time, the most important reform was that no matter which committeeman go out for work who must be companyed by supervisor to avoid analogous events. Actually not only in sports, in other areas, scandals are very useful. Everytime a big scandal is unearthed, a reform is coming sequently. Because scandal find those bad and harmful problems to us, which compel us to take some measure to response them.
In sum, although we do not hope see those notorious scandals, they after all reflect our disadvantages, make us can do better for our society and future.
