Issue154:
Both parents and communities must be involved in the local schools. Education is too important to leave solely to a group of professional educators.
提纲:
赞成:
1, 父母才是拥有最终法律权利去决定哪些教育最适合自己的孩子
2, 在教育中,毕竟不是专业的教育人士最重视这些孩子,而是他们自己的父母
3, communities
The speaker asserts that both parents and communities must be involved in the local school and it is unwise to leave education solely to a group of professional educators. I strongly agree with the speaker, for parents are important factor in the process of students' education. However, when except for major decisions such as choice of school, a child's education is best left to professional educators.
The threshold reason why I agree with the speaker is that parents hold the ultimately legal authority to make key decisions on what educational choices are best suited for the child. Parents should have the right to know what happened to their children instead leaving them alone without care, and they also play a crucial part in the growth of their children and making important decisions about what kind of schools the children should go to or what kind of things kids really like surely should be included. After all, it is people like them who have the blood bond with their children and who can truly know the unique needs of a child-including what educational choices are best suited for them.
Another reason for my support to the speaker's claim is that parents are more motivated-by pride and ego-than any other person to take whatever measures are needed to ensure their children receiving the best possible education. It is a general known concept that parents are those people who care their children best except some rare situations, thus, I think no professional educators will spend as much as time as the children's own parents on one of the most important developmental processed in children's whole life. Therefore, it is an unsuspicious choice to let parents to participate in education.
Even assuming that with the communities' participation, local schools will do better in instructing the children, especially in the respect of moral instruction. If local schools can win the support of the communities, then the financial condition will be greatly enhanced and children will get a feeling that there are more people showing concern to them, so surely enough, they will try harder with their school works. Aside from these merits, receiving moral instruction will be a better way to equip children before they totally enter to the society, if so, our society is also the one which receive additional profits.
Nonetheless, I disagree with the speaker's claim for several reasons. In a perfect world, parents would always make their children's education one of their highest priorities. Yet, in fact, many parents do not. And also parents are not necessarily best equipped to know that is best for their children, they may not give their children a chance to speak out their real opinions and this is sometimes a detrimental to their development. In an addition, too many parties become involved in making decision about day-to-day instruction, the school education would be interfered and intervened.
In sum, with all that positive results which have been proved, parents and communities should be involved in the local schools. However, this activity may concurrently happen with series of bad effects that will constitute the best obstacle in the development of children. Hence, people and the whole nation should take great care about children's education, which is somewhat the country's future. |
