第一稿，三十分钟之内，结尾句差一点点没写完，有几个单词拼写错误，还有几个名词单复数没弄清楚，其他的个人觉得还算是一篇好文章。写之前看过NEC3一篇类似的文章，所以可能有些模仿。

Topic 9: Some people prefer to live in a small town. Others prefer to live in a big city. Which place would you prefer to live in? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.

The issue of whether to live in a small town or in a big city has always opened to debate. The advocators of living in a small town extol the pastoral life there while the proponent of dwelling in a big city praise the convenience metropolis can bring. City born and city bred, I strongly hold the belief that a big city is the habitat for the human beings.

First of all, big cities can bring the best that life could give to us. With the handy transportation and communication system, your friends are often not far away for an informal chat or amused entertainment. Unlike the inhabitants in the small town, city dwellers do not have to wait for the festival to go to the theater for a rare treat. The latest movies, plays or concerts are always within a bus ride. Shopping, too, is another favor the city can offer. There are varieties of commodities to choose from that you never have to make do with the second best, nor do you have to stuff your car with as many exotic goods as you can and then stagger home at one time.

Besides, big cities never lack their distinct beauty. The skyscrapers, all too often described as concrete and steel made forest, whose glass walls glittering in the sunshine, is the most exciting scenery in the city. And walking in a cold wet winter with the orange glow from the advertisement box can give the pedestrians the greatest comfort.

Loathing domiciling in small towns as I am, however, I have to admit some of the merits of living there. The fresh air, the friendly neighbors, the closeness to nature, are all the blessings people enjoy. No wonder that waken up by the twittering of the cock and breathing the air with the odor of flowers is one of the most enjoyable things in the world. Nonetheless, just think about the misery and tough journey, usually 3 or 4 hours long, to commute to city for work, you will regret the choice of living in small towns at once.

To sum up, taking into account all the pros and cons of dwelling in big cities and small towns, it is not too challenging for us to come to the conclusion that inhabiting in metropolis compared to
