------摘要------
Position: 应鼓励question and criticize
理由:
1、question and criticize 有利于培养创新的能力,而这种创新的能力正式社会发展的动力。
2、对被question and criticize 的人也是有利的。
3、有人反对教育鼓励question and criticize,因为这样会造成社会不和谐。反对,理由
(a)question and criticize 有利于人们的深入沟通。
(b)question and criticize 有利于找到社会的不和谐因素。

Education encourages students to question and criticize, and therefore does little to promote social harmony.
------正文------
Recently, the discussion on the ability of questioning and criticizing for a student is aroused. Some people assert that education should encourage students to question and criticize, while others believe not because it is harmful for social harmony. In my opinion, I totally agree with the former one for the reasons discussed below.

First of all, questioning and criticizing contributes to creativity and innovation, which are considered as the most significant resource for development. As Descartes the founder of modern philosophy once said (and I paraphrased): if you would be a real seeker after truth, it is necessary at least once in your life to doubt, as far as possible, all things. This might be the case. When we question or criticize, it is likely to mean that we have found something unreasonable or false. Maybe it is the very time that some progress would be made by correcting them. And that might be the way, in which we become more correct and reasonable. Suppose if Galileo had not questioned Aristotle's theory, we might not know the law of free falling nowadays; if Einstein had not criticized Newton's classic theories, how would Relative Theory come into being? Therefore, through questioning and criticizing the former, more truths have been discovered.

Secondly, it is also beneficial for persons who have been questioned and criticized. An old saying goes: when you are satisfied with yourself, it is the very time that you go near to failure. I agree with this view. Take my own experience for example. When I made a great progress in my study, I won my classmates' appreciation and then a sense of satisfaction came out. As a result, I paid more attention on playing games and threw my textbooks far from me. Just at the very time, my teacher found me and asked me: are you good enough, are you going to be better? Thanks to my teacher's questioning, I found myself eventually. Since then, I have realized that when questioning and criticizing come to me, it means I am not good enough and I must be better.

However, some persons oppose to cultivate the student's ability of questioning and criticizing, because they believe it is not beneficial for social harmony, even harmful. Consider that too much questioning and criticizing may lead to inconsistency, that might be the case, but I would not sit at the same side with them for the following two reasons.  To begin with, questioning and criticizing would contribute to a deep and comprehensive communication among people. Only when we find the problems between us and settle them, can we know each other better. Then with the help of understanding between each person, our society will become more harmonious. Furthermore, questioning and criticizing about the society is helpful to find the disharmonious factors in our lives, because only when the government knows what to be done, what could be done. Accordingly, questioning and criticizing in a correct degree helps to lead to social harmony.

In sum, whether questioning and criticizing is good for social harmony or not is a matter of degree. But after accounting for other advantages of the action, I can conclude firmly that education should encourage students to question and criticize in order to benefit both themselves and social harmony.

In my opinion, I totally agree with the former one for the reasons discussed below.

(very good illustration) Therefore, through questioning and criticizing the former, more truths have been discovered.   如果按你的提纲, 我觉得社会进步与社会和谐的关系还是没有点睛之笔, 感觉桥没有搭好。还有,我觉得例子主要是在科学方面的,还要加些笔墨才能说明促使社会进步了,而不是停留在科学领域。 这一段加大强调思辩与社会和谐的关系会不会紧凑一些? 个人觉得本段有很大修改空间。

Since then, I have realized that when questioning and criticizing come to me, it means I am not good enough and I must be better.   看到第2段,我觉得要再考虑一下审题。 前半部分应该是一个给出的事实,后半是因果关系。 B2的作用是什么呢? 题目说是学生, 为什么要扯出老师呢? 尽管例子显得很自然,但是, 我觉得对论证没有什么帮助。我的理解是题目就是要从对社会影响的角度来分析某种教育现象应该肯定或是否定。 如果是我, 我会删掉B2, 应为我觉得提纲3的立足很好,把3的两点再展开些, 1+3 足够了。

Accordingly, questioning and criticizing in a correct degree helps to lead to social harmony.   我觉得这段是最好的,观点明确,新颖, 行文流畅。如果B1 改不好,就把这段放前面吧,把2个观点拆2段也可以。 英文文章是要把最好的放前面啊,和中文压后是不同的。

In sum, whether questioning and criticizing is good for social harmony or not is a matter of degree. But after accounting for other advantages of the action, 不懂 I can conclude firmly that education should encourage students to question and criticize in order to benefit both themselves and social harmony.

首先,esmeiras的强拍让我很开思路:)
赞一个。

仔细审题后,发现therefore是不是提示中心在于  这个题目在讨论关于社会和谐呢?而不是关于质疑的作用。 也就是讨论的中心应该在于 social harmony。

第二点如果 是对于写质疑的,比较有力,放在这里觉得有点尴尬的说。just in my point of view

第三段比较透彻,赞~
