Education has always been one of the most heated topics among people. When it comes to the responsibility of education, most attribute it to teachers and other instructors,--those who professed in educating. However, it is not proper and too hasty to make such assertion. Concerning the great significance that education carries to the whole society, everyone in the society, not only the instructors, should share a part for our children, especially in such a era which is full of all sources of diversified influence.

Professionals, undoubtedly, plays the most vital role in a child's growth, especially at the prime phase. They know the science to teach, the secret to enlighten, and the way to encourage. Consider Helen Keller, whose wisdom was sparked by her first teacher at an early age. Another merit of professional education that we value when putting our children in the hands of professionals may largely due to the well-constructed educational system, which concentrated all kinds of resources, serving well for the educational purpose. All kinds of facilities and equipments, standarded curriculum, and peers to compete and collaborate together provide the students an ideal environment to develop.

On the other hand, the side effects that schooling takes cannot be overlooked. Imagine every child--who are like a piece of white paper--is inserted by the same instruction, the same material content, the same way to think ,and even the same way to walk. My own preliminary schooling best illustrate this point: we were restricted by all kinds of regulations since in the teachers's eyes, kids are hard to tame, and restriction and punishment is the most effective way. Enstain and edison are both persuasive paragons. Such behavior seriously undermine their individuality--they learned to get orders rather than think in their own way, which may defect their competence in a society which high value the originality and a total independence.

On the other hand, the meaning that education is endowed with is far more than a good environment and good instructors. For an effective expedient, who we should resort to is the environment around the children. Hillary Clinton's words speak out what I mean:” From the moment they are born, they depend on neighbors and teachers, political leaders and countless others who touch their life directly and indirectly.” The children are exposed to a myriad of information and impacts: the quarrel between parents, hi-jack in the airplane, violent accidents in the streets, and political leader's speech in the TV program. That is the reason why the teenage criminals are mostly from a bad-community or a divorced family, and why every parent want their child to live with the educated person.

The great complexity of our age indicates that education is not an easy task which should not only leave to a group of educational educators. In fact, every social members are ,more or less, influencing our next generation in this way or another. Only with the involvement of every aspects ,including the parents and communities, can the education be enhanced to an all-around and efficient one .
