The study of an academic discipline provides us with different eyes and profoundly alters the way we perceive the world, Newton, the greatest scientist, had said “if I have seen further than certain other men, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants”. After studying disciplines of academic, Newton climbed to the shoulders of giants, which gave him the ability to perceive the world in a different way so that he could see further than the people of his age.

Thousands of years ago, when our ancestors anthropoid were just at the same scratch line with the other creatures, the world present to them was all the same. Then how could our ancestor win the game of evolution over the other life-forms? Are our ancestors bigger or stronger than the others? No. it is because they have the peerless ability to study and accumulate knowledge and then form academic disciplines. All of this made them distinct from others, that is to say, they can see the same world with different eyes. For example, as to them, stone is no longer just something hard and useless but something that can be used as weapon and materials of buildings.

Nowadays, we human being have accumulated a huge quantity of information and knowledge and formed a variety of academic discipline. In each discipline, it contains numerous efforts of the forerunners. After studying of these disciplines, we can easily get the knowledge and will be soon informed in these fields. So when confronting the same problem, we no longer confuse as did the forerunners for we have already known what the right answer is or at least what is wrong. At this situation, we can consider the problems from the viewpoint of experts. We will not repeat the errors of the forerunners. For example, when we have no idea of gravity, we do not know why apple always drop to the ground but not to the sky. Most of us take it for granted because we see all things inevitably drop from high to low. It is not until we learn the law of gravity then we really know why apple will definitely drop to the ground, another example is about septic. Before Pasteur brought germ theory of disease to the world, most people believed that disease is generated spontaneously. But now equipped by germ theory of disease, we know that it is microorganisms rather than non-living things that cause disease. Therefore we can treat patients correctly.

To sum up, after studying the academic discipline, we will be informed with the relative knowledge and eventually become experts in these disciplines. So we can view the world with expert’s eyes which is different from what we ever have before. And it is also by this way we accumulate and inherit our knowledge and thrust our society to make ahead continually.
