题目：Playing computer games is a waste of time. Children should not be allowed to play them.


As one of the most important inventions of the recently 100 years, computer is close to people’s life. It not only can be used in working, but also prevalently provides the entertaining functions, especially the computer games. Recently, more and more children addict to play computer games. In this situation, I demonstrate that children should not be allowed to play computer games. And I hold this opinion by these reasons.
Firstly, there’s no doubt that playing games is harmful to children’s health. Regarding to the harm of the health, we can analysis it in two ways. First, the mental health of the children, since children are always in front of the computers and do not communicate with other people, they may have mental problems such as talking to themselves, do not want to see other people and so on. What’s more? On the physical aspect, young as children are,  doing exercise is benefit to their growing. Unfortunately, now, an amount of children stay in front of the computer and do not move for a long time making children have problems with their bodies especially with their necks and backs.
Secondly, it is too young for children to play computer games. The reason why children are easy to addict to games is that they are not mature enough. Adults have the abilities to control themselves, however, the children do not. Take my nephew John for example, he is only 9 years old, no matter when I come to his room, he is playing computer games. So I tell him that playing games is harm to him, at first, he comply with my words, but for about 1-2 hours later, he goes back and plays the games again.
Last, nowadays, the competition for living is stiff. We can imagine that in the future children’s competition will be much keener. In this situation, children should spend more time to prepare for their future, like learning knowledge, doing exercise for health and communicating with people to practice their social ability.
To sum up, although playing computer games brings relax and fun to children, from the reasons above, they should not play them.

In the listening materials, the professor debates that no evidence can prove that the professional painting of a teenager girl is Jane Austen. In contrast, the writer holds the opinion that the picture is Jane Austen. The professor proves his idea by these reasons.
Firstly, the lecture states that the permission given by Austen’s family is not reliable. Since the time that the Austen’s family gave the permission is 70 years later after Jane Austen’s death. The family members could not know what Jane Austen looks like. This point denies the idea which the writer holds that the paint is been admitted by Jane Austen’s family.
Secondly, the professor holds the opinion that the teenager in the paint who familiar to Jane Austen maybe Jane Austen’s cousins or other relationships. For example, the girl who named Marry in Austen’s family was familiar to Jane Austen. The reading, however, points out that the teenager in the painting is familiar to the sketch which is the one in Cassandra’s painting an adult Jane Austen.
Finally, the lecture challenges that the painter been considered was Humphrey only because of the style. And then the professor points the evidence which proves the picture painted later.  In fact, the paint was painted later, because the black canvas which used on the paint was not been sold until Jane Austen was 27 years old.

In the lecture the professor holds the idea that although, like the writer illuminates, the sales of the fossils which have grown into a big business have negative aspects, it still has an amount of positive aspects. And then the professor debates the ideas of the writer by these reasons.
Firstly, the professor holds the opinion that public suffers especially small ones would have much more opportunities to exhibit fossils. Since the fossils market provides great account of fossils to sale, the small public suffers which could not by the fossils before, such as schools, are allowed to buy the fossils. Therefore with prosperous fossil market, more fossils would be viewed by people. This is the defense of writer’s idea that it is harder for public people to view the fossils.
Secondly, the professor challenge the idea that scientist would lose opportunities to view a lot of fossils which the writer argues. It is obviously that the private collectors could not identify real fossils. So when they want to buy a fossil, the first thing that they have to do is asking scientists to identify the fossil. In this way, scientist would not lose the opportunities.
Finally, the professor illustrates that with the prelate business of fossils, more fossils would be discovered. The fossilsare not been discovered so much as been found and only may destroy, though the writer reminds different point.

In the lecture the professor debates the point of the writer, and demonstrates her own idea that salvage logging is not beneficial to a damaged forest and to the economy. Then she supports her idea by these follow reasons.
Firstly, cleaning dead trees would not help other new trees grow on the place where the old tree used to be. When the old trees been removed, the soil on the ground will lust. Lust soil is not a suitable place for new trees to grow. In this way, the professor challenges the writer’s opinion that salvage logging help forest areas recover from the disaster.
Secondly, the professor states that although insects usually been attracted by dead trees, birds which can eat insects will also choose dead tree to live or nest. So dead trees would not bring the dangers of insect infestation which is the writer declares. And also the professor refers that some dead tree stay in the forest for about 100 years, and they make balance habitat for both bird and insect.
Last, the professor holds the opinion that salvage logging has small economic benefits. Compare with the number of industry wood products, the number of the dead trees is too limited. Furthermore, the work causing salvage logging is temporary and local resident workers may be instead by training workers. In contrast, the writer believes that salvage logging has economic benefits and helps create additional jobs.
