Should government conserve the wilderness areas owned by the public in their natural state? The speaker claims so, and my view is that the judgment about the issue should depend on a case-by-case analysis. Environment protection, one of the most crucial key words in modern society, exerts a considerably significant influence on everybody who lives on the earth.

Firstly, after having accepted the drastically awful experiences of ignoring the importance of environment, we human beings are aware that how vital preserving the environment is now. There is a phenomenon called "butterfly effect", which means that even an extremely small effect could pose a significant influence on the whole situation due to the numerous invisible ties between them. In light of this theory, it could be explained why the rainforest in Brazil could affect the whole climate in the world so much. The rainforest in Brazil is the largest rainforest in the world, and it is said that the rainforest keeps the steady of the world’s climate, and once it is ruined, it will bring a disaster of the world's weather. And this rumor was proved true when a number of businessmen came to the rainforest and cut lots of trees to obtain the wood which is valuable in the market of wood training. In one word, environment is so important that we cannot neglect its effect even though it is not appeared in our period of time. If we focus not enough on it and deteriorate uncontrollably, it will undoubtedly make us get the terrible consequence eventually.

Secondly, even although it seems extremely remote and accessible to only a few people, it is not for sure that it will be useless. The wilderness areas could be useful not only for visiting, but also for other values. For example, it is valuable for the science research which does not need lots of people. Take the pandas for example, most of them living in the deep forests and mountains, and a number of preserving areas built for them are not available for travelers. However, it is the most ancient species in the world and people called it "the live fossil". Due to its long history, biologists could acquire so much information about its evolutionary history that could not be gained from other species. Thus it is not wise not to preserve publicly owned wilderness areas in their natural state just because it is remote and inaccessible to most people. It could have far more than values for tourism and in the foreseeable future; it is highly possible that the new values will be digged out which we have not know yet.

I concede that there indeed exist some wilderness areas that need not to be protected by the government. There are so many wild areas that it is impossible to preserve all of them. The resources of government are limited and they need to be used in the places which need them most. Thus, it is wise to choose the most valuable wild areas to preserve than preserve them all without choosing. Moreover, there are lots of wild areas have the ability to keep themselves recycling without the help of human being so that the protection of the government would be useless in these places.

In conclusion, although there indeed are some places which are needless to be conserved, the environmental protection is so important that we can not ignore it. And it is undoubtedly that there will be more value of these wilderness areas in the future that makes our protection necessary now.
