The speaker asserts that improving the quality of instruction at thecollege and university level can be achieved by sending all faculties to workoutside the academic world irrespective of whatever disciplines they are in. Ifundamentally agree with the speaker insofar as some not all faculties’ workingoutside in professions do help a lot to improve the quality of instruction, notonly would the students receive a more enlightening direction, but also theyare secured a better future. To begin with, faculty who is engaged in his fields usually gains freshinsights about issues at hand from outside world which could never be attainedwithout a practical experience. As one of the major aims of high education, imparting the students the way to examine and explore is the duty every facultyhas to face up with. A stunning speech given by a professor of clairvoyancewould surely intrigue the curiosity of exploring the sea of knowledge. Studentsin college hardly feel immune to the faculty's charm who is equipped with thoseinsightful, attractive, most advanced ideas concerning to the issues they arelearning about. For their own sake, it is obvious that they would be moreinclined to absorb the knowledge given by those faculties. In that case, theeffect of instruction is reinforced largely. Of course, we also have to mentionthat it is working outside the academic world that makes faculties acquire abunch of contagious thoughts. Moreover, by keeping pace with the changing demands of work, professorswith the first-hand material and precious pragmatic experience are more likelyto help students who long for a job upon graduation in all seriousness.Preparing students refuse to advance to gradual-level study for their career isanother main objective of the college and university education. For doing that, students, who have such strong desire for those information of first-hand andacquaintance of the context of their discipline—that fits the demands of theirfuture work after they leave the academic world, are in a position to procureapplicable information through professors. Consider, for example, under whichprofessor's instruction you can be exposed to more information you need. Onewho never takes part in professions and another with the riches absorbs fromthe outside world, while the latter one would mostly like to be almost everyone of the students' option. It can be easily seen that the informationacquired by inquiry and reading papers pales in importance and effectivenesscompared to those first-hand materials and experience that meet a compellingpractical need. However, not all faculties should experience the world outside, since itmay be no better, or even counterproductive to the quality of instruction. Somedisciplines, such as philosophy, literature, history and mathematics, emphasized more on theoretical research rather than technology andadministrative skills which have much more appliance in the real world. Thoseadvantages aforementioned would no longer exist, whereas such distraction maylargely influence the efficacy. And in fact, those disciplines have no need forapplication in the real world while they themselves are the appliance. Rollingin the endless [inexhaustible] academic world is just the same as enjoying allthe time the benefits of pure theoretics. To sum up, due to the above mentioned reasons, which to some extentdemonstrate the positive side of what the speaker have asserted, we can safelyarrive at the conclusion that in some specific disciplines it is necessary forfaculties to work in professions, which do benefit the college and universitystudents.
