Teachers are now acting as a more important role in society; for the reason education is weigh more in today’s world than before. To an individual, teacher is a vital person in one's life because he or she impacts on us not only the detailed knowledge, but the qualities being a worth man. In my opinion, as a teacher, to help the students gaining self-confidence is far more important than teaching them specific knowledge.

Primarily, knowledge can not equal the priority of qualities. We trust our friends because they are honest, not because they have a large ken of knowledge. We judging people from who they are, and self-confidence is significant in showing out one's shinning points. Therefore, before we go to society, we should equip ourselves as a mature person, and the teacher is of great importance in this process, by helping us gain self-confidence. Through every little thing, teacher praises the students for their progresses and achievements, and this action is teaching students the most vital lesson in life, no fear, no shyness and they can do better in their own field.

Secondly, from the teacher's side, although the specific knowledge is important, it is out of teachers' ability to teach all the knowledge in this rapidly changing world. We gain knowledge from our teacher, but what we face in the further is far more complicated than we had learnt in the class. Today’s world is dazzling with new things everyday, as well as the detailed knowledge which is rapidly changing in most subjects. Like computer science, which renewed the program within a year and what you learnt last month is outdated when you graduated this month as an engineer. So, the teacher will fail if he or she wants to teach all the specific knowledge. But things is different in helping students build their self-confidence, which is the inner power of a person, with which one can face the difficulties with brave and overcome the obstacles .And it can lasting a life long time.

From the two points I showed above, helping students to build their self-confidences is the most important thing to a teacher’s job. It is a vital and doable and will benefit the students for a life-long time.
