Whether the destiny of society depends on how children are socialized today, which debated quite fierce in modern society, is increasingly becoming the focus of the world. Relatively, more attention has been paid on the subject that people have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society. However, it is undoubted that the outlooks are unilateral in some extent.

Society’s destiny depends on how children are socialized, which can not be supported by most of people. It is thought that there are several explanations for this. First, the destiny of society is determined by the level of social development that is finally determined by productivity rather than socialization of children. For example, stone implement, bronze, ironware, steam engine, and electric motors, as well as modern technology productivity such as information science, life science, nanometer technology, the process of which developed, evolved and progressed reflects the productivity and the trend of social development from low to high. Hence, social development is propelled by progress that the capability reforming the world is strengthening, cognition of macroscopic and microscopic of world is deepening. Second, children’s socialization might affect social development in certain degree, and exert some influence on the destiny of society further. However, socialization of children alone is not enough. To compete with future challenges for survival, education programs for children to grasp technical skills also play a vital role in destiny of our society, where diversity of our human endeavors will become more complicated and competitive. Even in present conditions, one without any useful skill would find their difficulties in hunting jobs and their disadvantages in daily lives. We can logically presume that society could not go further if the majorities are illiterate and mainly gain foods from governments and churches. As the old saying goes, knowledge is power. Technical skills provided for children in realistic environments are like weapons provided for soldiers in wars.


Although many aspects of society, involving families and schools, claim their awareness of raising children in socialization, education and morality, how children are socialized, how children are trained for technical skills, and how children are imbued with healthy morality all beg questions. For instance, parents are too busy to pay attention to their children, teachers attach too much importance to middle and final exams, and media broadcast their programs with sex and violence to attract audiences. Under such circumstance in society, children are blind to what they should take along with their lives and simulate violent behaviors society told them. Admittedly, some children have strong ability of self-control to resist such nasty mind and learn knowledge and morality by themselves. Yet, our future society can not built on such desirous wish that children, as self-learning machine, just attract healthy and positive thoughts and abilities. With rapid steps of lives and changing structure of society, we have not prepared well for raising children in deed.

In sum, all the three factors on raising children have a long way towards future of our society, which in turn can check whether our means and methods on raising children are right. In any event, children should be paid more attention by all aspects of society, especially by parents and teachers. And, schools should attach importance to foster their societal abilities and healthy morality rather than examinations. In addition, governments and media should make efforts to construct more positive environments in processes of children's growth.
