        This statement asserts that art, not the art critic, provides something of lasting value. I strongly agree with the statement. Although the critic can evaluates works of art, such as novels, films, musics, paintings, and help us understand the art, something which can be titled lasting value must be creative, impressive and historic. All of the three are produced by the artists, not the critics. To support my opinion, I will respectively proof the three points above.
        The fist reason for my viewpoints is that something of lasting value must be creative, which is full of painstaking effort by the artists, which is unique in the world, which is reflecting the artist’s heart. In other word, an artist fill his feeling of artist in the product, which is lasting value, which can’t be given by the critic. Thus, the lasting value stems from the artists, not the critics.
        And the second reason is that the impressive thing is the work of art, not the critic. A lasting value must be impressive, and once catch it in sight, we will not forget it. It is crystal clear that we will only remember the amazing artists, never remember the critics. If we call the unimpressive thing lasting value. It is a little funny, isn’t it? So the impressive things in people’s mind are produced by the artist, not the critic.
        Besides, a work of artist can represent for a history. When we stare on a picture, we may feel that the time is revert, be more or less the same that we are in that period, we are a person in the picture. When we read a great novel, we may find somebody similar to ourselves, feel like personally going through the situation. The artist through works of art, provides an invaluable and unique mirror of the culture of the time during which the work was produced—a mirror for the artist’s contemporaries and for future generations to gaze into for insight and appreciation of history. At the time, we are reconant with the author. The author make a connection between him and us. In my opinion, the most lasting value is in our heart, when an artist touch our heart, he will have done it!
        Admittedly, the critics who can provide feedback for artists can boost the art, but they can’t produce the creative, impressive and historic things which is indispensable to the lasting value.
