It’s better to watch serious movies that help people think than to watch movies that could amuse and entertain people.

When asked about the question that which type of movie you prefer between serious movies and ones of entertainment. A part of people will say that they tend to spend time and money on serious movies which make them think about life. But in my view, watching movies that could amuse and entertain people is the greatest thing in the world.

First of all, watching a funny film makes me relax from the heavy work and study and it helps me gain more strength for the next stage of work. Why could we waste our hard-making money on a boring serious movie? I must try my best to make clear what a serious movie is taking about, and it feels like I’m still in the work place. So I will never waste my time on the serious movies even if they are educational and meaningful.

What’s more, amusement is the most important part a movie should contain to attract people in modern society. Everyone loves to be amused and the interesting part of a movie is easily remembered by people. In the increasing speed of pace of life, movies without amusement are completely failure. When we go to the film with our best friends taking hands of food, how we can stand for 2 hours with no laugh?

In addition, most amusement movies nowadays are educational and have serious subjects as well. Let’s take the popular 3D film Avadar as an example. I’m totally attracted by the amazing effects of the pictures and having an wonderful experience during the movie time. But it also have a serious theme which asks us to protect the environment of our mother earth. So here is the question: if the film is only serious one talking about the environment protection all the time, how many of us would go to watch it and remember it after years? Of course, nobody!

In a word, it’s better to than to watch movies that could amuse and entertain people than to watch serious movies that help people think.

People always face the choice of living in one place all life or moving to different cities and countries. In my opinion, we should analysis this issue different part of one’s life. Because the different goals in each stage of life depend whether we should stay or leave in one place.

Firstly, when we are a child, we should live in a fixable place as possible as we can. In this period of time, we need a quite condition to improve ourselves and develop our body in a healthy way. Parents tell us what to do and how to do. And of course, we make the best friends of all the life. If we keep changing the place of living, how to focus on learning and how can we grow up happily in a place full of strangers? Only living in our hometowns when we are young can we dare to think about the great future.

Then we become adults and everything seems to change in a second. We must leave our parents and hometown and go to different places to face the unknown challenges of life. After meeting with various kinds of people in different place, we are able to learn how to treat people in the best ways. Maybe we are lucky to find another part of our lives among the see of crowd. When facing difficulties in strange place all alone, it is time to solve them by our own strength and it is the day to be a man.

When we are old after years of challenging in society, what we need is a peaceful place to end our life. Some people go back to their hometown and stay at the place they born waiting for the day come. Some people choose places they like most with great environment or little disturbing to live. The most important key is to stay in one place when we are old and avoid moving frequently.

The three stages make up a circle. We live in the circle from child to the old. Different places witness the changes of us. And different goals in each stage of life depend whether we should stay or leave in one place.

students should be required to take basic science classes even if they are not this major.

Nowadays, the topic is under widely debated that whether all students should be asked to attend classes about basic science which is no relevant to their major. In my opinion, no matter what students major they should all take basic science classes.

First of all, taking basic science classes make students gain the basic knowledge of the world and help them better understand the whole universe. The world is strange and new to all the students when they start to go to school. It is math classes make us understand the meaning of number. It is the physics teaches tell us why we can not fly like a bird. It is the chemical experiments help us realize the thing what we breathe every second. It is the biology course that we find many secrets of our own bodies. So is there any reason not to take basic science classes?

Secondly, students can develop the ability of rational thinking in the basic science classes, which is helpful through their lives. The meaning of education is to teach students how to live a better life and it also contains the ability to solve problems. When facing difficulties, we should take the rational thinking on the first place and analyze the possible cause and effect of issues. Only by taking the basic science classes can we learn to think in a rational way.



What’s more, the knowledge of basic science could have a positive effect on one’s major. It can provide a new way to understand certain problems in the major course. In addition, the method and the theory of basic science can also be used when we study the major course. Take the creation of science fiction as an example. If a writer only compose fiction novels in an imaging way without any science knowledge, who will be interesting in this kind of novel? Of course, no one.

In a word, the basic science knowledge is dispensable to all the students. All students should be required to take basic science classes even if they are not this major.
