It is better to spend money on traveling and vacation than to save money for the future?(09.03.14)

In the modern world, the majority do not have to worry about achieving food security or makinga living. When it comes to the use of the extra money, people face assorted choices, such as saving them for the future or spending on vacation. As far as I am concerned, while enjoying traveling as a way to repose and relax, people should not neglect the importance of saving money for tomorrow, since both of them have profound effects on everyone’s life.

The rapid development and the increasing importance of the tourism is something self-evident, since countless citizens regard traveling as an effective way to rest and relax as well as to experience a different life. It is true that modern people lead affluent even luxury lives resulting from the high-paced work, but they are actually deprived of the freedom and healthy lifestyle under such stress in today’slife. Then traveling to a remote city or uncontaminated countryside helps the slaves of work get rid of the toxic gases released by cars and the narrow streets thronged by crowds. No one will repulse the dulcet songs sang by birds, the green world surrounded by plants and the air of freedom without any work deadline. Not only that, people traveling to a faraway city may have good chance to experience and learn from the different life. For examples, the one who born and brought up in a costal city in south part of China may see snow falling in large flakes for the first time on the vacation in the north city. In a word, it is aworthy choice to spend money on traveling.

However, spending money in today's vocation is not incompatible with the saving for future. No one can predict what happened in future, for life is full of changes. The one who won the champion in marathon races today may suffer a serious disease later, which wipes out the saving of the whole family. Thus, it is of necessity to save money for the treatment of diseases in future, especially when aged. What's more, while enjoying today’s life, modern people should consider the future of their descendants, such as education. The adequate funds invest in education is a basic guarantee to bestow the privilege of receiving better education on the offspring to some extent. In this way, modern people are quite responsible to save a large sum of money to pay for the future education.

In the aggregate, spend money in traveling and saving some of them for future is of equal importance, since people can have an air of freedom and see different views by taking a trip, at the same time, they can ensure the treatment of unexpected diseases and the better education of the descendants by saving the extra money.

6.22 Sometimes, if you can not say anything nice to someone, you should say nothing at all.

Interpersonal communication is one of the key words of our time. Some people tend to keep totally silent when they find it hard praising others, since they believe that saying something bad is absolutely a hamperer to development the relationship. However, as far as I am concerned, it is not wise to say nothing at all if one can not say anything nice to others.

First of all, it is no need to question that the good relationship is based on the principle of honestness and sincerity. If the one is not inclined to violate such a rule, it is almost impossible to avoid saying something negative. On the contrary, if a person tries to please and court others, what he says, though sounds sweet, is actually hypocritical even harmful blandishments, which results in the lose of the trust of others eventually. For example, when asked about the evaluation of a new work finished by his friend, a person rave about it or just keep silent against his will with utility purpose. Once realizing his insincerity, the friend would never seek advice from him and never regard him as a reliable person any more. Thus, when people abide by the proper honest standards, saying something bad is of no harm and even a promoter to the relationship.

Secondly, saying something bad can preclude pitfalls and defend one’s interest. In business world, a experienced colleague points out the drawbacks in the implement plan worked by a novice with criticism and condemnation, which dose prevent the interest of the company from damage. In university campus, a student may reproach his schoolmate for making too much noise in the library in order to guarantee the quiet environment for all students including himself. If the student says nothing, the noise will distracted him form reading books more or less. in this way, bad words play a effective role in reducing and avoiding damage.

In the aggregate, I disagree with the statement that if one can not say anything nice to someone, one should say nothing at all, since bad words is not only a result of sincerity and trust, but also an irreplaceable tool of ensuring the good of individual and the collective.

6,24 Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? A job with more vacation time is better than a job with high salary but less vacation time.

In an era of diversify development period, people have more options when choose a job that may accompany with them throughout the lifetime. What is the yardstick for measuring a job? Some people posed overmuch emphasis on high salary while overlooking the importance of vacation time. However, as far as I am concerned, a job with more vacation time is far better than the one with high pay but little relaxed time.

First of all, jobs with more vacation time contribute to keep physiological and mental health. The majority modern people works in high-paced job, which results in the fatigue even disease in physical body as well as some psychological illness. Thus, more attention should pay to the rest and relax. Vacation time offers good opportunities to let people repose and enjoy the resting-brain break, instead of putting up with the narrow office thronged by masses of people and long-term overwork. Without in good health, though obtaining high salary, one can hardly lead a comfortable life. Therefore, it is a better choice to undertake a job with more vacation time.

Secondly, jobs with more vacation offer much more possibilities to improve one’s social life. It is true that people can lead affluent even luxury lives resulting from high-paid job, but they are actually deprived of the precious time spending with relatives and friends because of the professional life. For example, a man earning a large sum of money may have little chance to dine with his wife throughout a year. As time passes, the relationship between them get estranged which may be an important factor leading to divorcement eventually. In contrast, if a man works in a job with more vacation, he can cook the meals for his wife and even enjoy a long-trip together. For this reason, vacation time is a more important aspect of a job.

In the aggregate, I prefer a job with more vacation time rather than high salary. Although high income offers luxury dwelling and fancy clothes, overload work pose side effects on people’s health and social life. Instead, vacation time let people live a healthy life and derive invaluable pleasure from time with family and friends.

==> hardly can one... (might be better)

which may be an important factor leading to divorcement eventually

In an era of diversify(语法错误,介词后不能用原形,这里应该死diversified) development period(这句话作者是想表达什么意思呢?不明白,而且这句话很别扭,In the modern time of multiple ways of developing themselves), people have more options when choose(choosing,这种语法错误作者要注意啊) a job that may accompany with them throughout the lifetime(太多余了,直接when choosing a life-time job). What is the yardstick(这个词会不会口语化了,用criterion吧) for measuring a job? Some people posed overmuch emphasis on high salary while overlooking the importance of vacation time. However, as far as I am concerned, a job with more vacation time is far better than the one with high pay but little relaxed time.开头段写的还是不错的,只是想开始的两句话写的不好。; _3 ^! }* d% A  A, h- @* g% f

First of all, jobs with more vacation time contribute to keep physiological and mental health. The majority (of) modern people works(语法错误work) in high-paced job, which results in the(the删去) fatigue even disease in physical body(in physical body这个完全是赘余) as well as some psychological illness. 作者这篇文章论证的整体思路很清晰,而且没有什么大的错误,但是没有直接的回应题目,题目问的是disagree or not,不是让choose

Agree or disagree:
The best way to learn about a foreign country is byreading newspaper or magazines.

In the world shaped by globalization, an increasinglynumber of people is inclined to learn about a foreign country. Then how canpeople realize this goal? Some claim that the best way is to read newspaperor magazines. However, I hold some different opinions about it.

First of all, newspaper and magazines are no longer thefastest way to learn about what happens in the foreign country. Over the lasthundred years, technological advancement has spawned various sources ofinformation, such as television and internet, which offers people morepossibilities to access to information about other countries at first time. Television, for instance, shows its great advantages in timeliness by presenting thefirsthand video or picture. I still remember the striking video about event ”911” reported on television 9 years ago. ThoughI was in eastern hemisphere, I learn about what was going on in Americaat first time. In contrast, the traditional media, regardless of newspaper ormagazine, can hardly present such vivid and striking information without delay.

Secondly, to learn a foreign countrycomprehensively, the effective way is to travel to that country. Although wecan learn some things about a country by reading newspaper or magazines, wehave to admit that this knowledge is limited even inaccurate. for example, aforeign friend of mine was once under an illusion that Kongfu is a kind ofperformance almost every Chinese are good at since he read a article releasedin a magazine. When taking a trip in china, however, he realized that few of Chineses  is expert in it. in addition, he also had a visit to the place of interest inchina, especially some museums, and learned that calligraphy besides kongfu isan important and typical aspect of Chinese culture. But all these informationcan hardly be found in newspapers or magazines.

In the aggregate, I disagree that newspaper and magazinesis the best way to learn about a foreign country, since they are able toneither serve as the most prompt way to report nor provide comprehensively knowledgeabout a foreign country.
