10.17 To truly understand world event, we should get our news from newspaper; television cannot provide enough information

As we enter into information age, our life is inundated with enormous information conveyed by various mediums. Arguing for that newspapers is the best way to obtain information are those people who think newspapers include up-to-date information. Contrary to the opinion of many people is my heartfelt support to the idea that television is able to provide us more timely, straightforward and free information.

To begin with, with overwhelming merits compared with newspaper in terms of information delivery, television could transfer information at staggering speed and huge quantity. As anyone knows, the process of manufacturing newspaper is complicated including composing, printing distributing and list will go on. So when we receive newspaper, there will at least a half day from the time when the event happened. However, this will not occur in television, because the information on the spot could be recorded by video and transferred through satellites. That’s just a few seconds! Sometimes, the broadcast to public could even go with the happening event simultaneously.

Moreover, information could be implanted into public in a straightforward way through television. In this way, we do not need to picture what and where the event is happening. Take World Cup as an example. We could know more details about the event through television broadcast. We can imagine if there is no television, how have we
witnessed
the severe competition in the football field, the shocking shooting of famous football star and the admirable teamwork among members? It is television that tells us about the event specifically and lively. In a sharp contrast, thanks to limited space in newspapers, information could not be written in a detailed way but in a summary manner.

Finally, information in television is totally free because the costs of information are compensated by the revenue of advertisement. Nowadays, it costs you RMB1 to buy a piece of newspaper, which seems so affordable. However, 100 billion people will pay RMB100 billion to buy the same newspaper. If this huge amount of money put into Hope Program to subsidize those children who are not able to go to school because of family financial deficiency, I bet more than thousands children will go back to school. So compared with newspapers, television is little money consuming and an efficient way to acquire information.

Considerable though the virtues of newspaper are, they could not compete with benefits of television when the above factors are taken into account. All in all, it is not true that televisions contain not enough information. On the contrary, they offer us a valuable venue to see what we want more efficiently.

As we enter into information age, ourlife is inundated with enormous information conveyed by various mediums. Arguingfor that newspapers is the best way to obtain information are those people whothink newspapers include up-to-date information. (Peoplearguing for that… think…句子结构是不是可以变一下?) Contrary to the opinion of many people is my heartfeltsupport to the idea that television is able to provide us more timely (同样是结构问题,读起来不是很顺畅,并且还有一些词的用法,比如 more timely,可以用其他的表达形式),straightforward and free information.

To begin with, with overwhelming meritscompared with newspaper in terms of information delivery, television couldtransfer information at staggering speed and huge quantity. As anyone knows,(It is known that) the process of manufacturingnewspaper is complicated including composing, printingdistributingand list will go on.(主语是?)
So when we receive newspaper, therewill at least a half day from the time when the event happened. (例子很好) It istelevision that tells us about the event specifically and lively. In a sharpcontrast, thanks to (用在这里不恰当吧,thanks to应该是幸亏之类的意思吧) limitedspace in newspapers, information could not be written in a detailed way but ina summary manner.

Finally, information in television istotally free because the costs of information are compensated by the revenue ofadvertisement. Nowadays, it costs you RMB1 to buy a piece of newspaper, whichseems so affordable. However, 100 billion people will pay RMB100 billion to buythe same newspaper. So compared with newspapers, television is little money consuming andan efficient way to acquire information. (觉得这段对于topic来说有点偏题,花费高跟我们truly理解这个世界以及tv上面的信息量似乎没有什么联系)

Considerable though the virtues ofnewspaper are, they could not compete with benefits of television when theabove factors are taken into account. All in all, it is not true thattelevisions contain not enough information. On the contrary, they offer us avaluable venue to see what we want more efficiently.

就像我上面提到的一样,我觉得应该时时针对topic,主要从tv的信息量和truly理解这个世界这两点来做文章

改得不好请指正:)

10月19作文
10.19 该重视学习concepts &ideas呢,还是重视学习facts呢

In no time in history have we witnessed such a topic widely discussed as education. As the number of people who receive education is mounting, some raise the question: What we should emphasize on the study? Is it concepts and ideas, or facts? This question is so controversial that different people hold different views due to their different background and conflicting thoughts. From my perspective, concepts and ideas are by no mean senseless, but enjoy priority in classes.

To begin with, to learn facts is to facilitate us to learn concepts and ideas more easily and thoroughly. This is because some concepts and ideas are too abstract to understand for students due to their limitation in knowledge and ability of acceptance. To illustrate this point, there is an example very persuasive. In psychology class, the teacher put us a new concept named “self-realization”, which is a term in “Maslow’s Need Hierarchy”. At first, we could not get a clear perspective of this concept for it is too difficult to understand. At this time, the professor provided us an actual example. He told us that people, like scientists, artists, and teachers, usually do not work for the sake of money but in order to serve the public and realize their values by doing what they are interested in. This kind of satisfaction is called “self-realization”. Thus we totally understand this abstract idea due the facts that we could perceive and feel in reality.

Moreover, as we all know, our society is changing at a staggering speed. So concepts and ideas in books could never surpass the changing speed of reality. It is true that some concepts and ideas are out of date that could not meet our demands. For instance, the concepts and ideas in financial books could not pace with development of society because those concepts and ideas are more often than not written in books in order to impel us to the nature of financial transaction. If a new accountant does not know that fact that some concepts and ideas have been abandoned or replaced by first-rate technology, he will be called “antique” by his colleagues. This is really an embarrassing thing that everyone should avoid. In fact, this phenomenon is particularly evident in technology companies, as factual technology is shifting so fast and unimaginable. Therefore, some old concepts and ideas should be discarded in order to keep us with reality.

All in all, it is no deniable that concepts and ideas are able to equip people with knowledge and the way of thinking. However, they can not work all the time. Taking into all the factors into consideration, people do not have to go very far to understand the significant role that facts play in teaching.

In no time (马上,立即?) in history have we witnessed sucha topic widely discussed as education. (a topicdiscussed as education?不太明白这句话想表达的意思) As the number of people whoreceive education is mounting, some raise the question: What we shouldemphasize on the study? Is it concepts and ideas, or facts? This question is socontroversial that different people hold different views due to their different(various) background andconflicting thoughts. From my perspective, concepts and ideas are by no mean
(by no means) senseless (by no means senseless是什么意思哦,话说我理解这种类型的否定再否定一直都有困难。。。), but enjoy priority in classes.(conceptsenjoy priority?因为这句话比较重要,直接给出观点,建议直接强调facts)

To begin with, to learn facts isto facilitate (facilitates) us to learn concepts and ideas more easily and thoroughly. Thisis because some concepts and ideas are too abstract to understand for studentsdue to their limitation in knowledge and ability of acceptance. To illustratethis point, there is an example very persuasive (an persuasive example,形容词直接修饰名词,放到前面吧). In psychology class, the teacher put us a new concept named“self-realization”, which is a term in “Maslow’s Need Hierarchy”. At first, wecould not get a clear perspective of this concept for it is too difficult tounderstand. At this time, the professor provided us an actual example. He toldus that people, like scientists, artists, and teachers, usually do not work forthe sake of money but in order to serve the public and realize their values bydoing what they are interested in. This kind of satisfaction is called “self-realization”.Thus we totally understand this abstract idea due (due to) the facts that we couldperceive and feel in reality. (好例子啊)

Moreover, as we all know, oursociety is changing at a staggering speed. So concepts and ideas in books couldnever surpass the changing speed of reality (conceptsand idea不能超过speed). It is true that some concepts andideas are out of date that could not meet our demands. For instance, theconcepts and ideas in financial books could not pace with development ofsociety because those concepts and ideas are more often than not written inbooks in order to impel us to the nature of financial transaction. If a newaccountant does not know that fact that some concepts and ideas have beenabandoned or replaced by first-rate technology, he will be called “antique” byhis colleagues. This is really an embarrassing thing that everyone shouldavoid. In fact, this phenomenon is particularly evident in technologycompanies, as factual technology is shifting so fast and unimaginable. Therefore, some old concepts and ideas should be discarded in order to keep us withreality. (这段主要是讲concept会被时间淘汰,并且从例子等方面看,我进而得出的结论是我们要积极的学习新的concept,这就与楼主想表达的意思不一样了)

All in all, it is no deniable thatconcepts and ideas are able to equip people with knowledge and the way ofthinking. However, they can not work all the time. Taking into all thefactors into consideration, people do not have to go very far to understand thesignificant role that facts play in teaching. (因为这段第一句还是说了concept的一些好话,所以后面一句感觉应该更强烈一点,突出fact)

10月20号作文 又超时啦,很拍啊,多谢啊!

As the shocking jumps in technology and economy, the living standard of human has improved remarkably. Compared to 20 years ago, we spend time less time in cooking and preparing food. Some may raise the question: Whether will this cooking pattern apply to the situation of 20 years later? This question is so controversial that different people hold various views due to their different background and conflicting values. From my perspective, the time consumed on cooking and preparing food will definitely be reduced in the future.

As we all know, our paces of life are increasingly fast in contemporary society and this situation will continue in the future. So there will less time for those people who live at fast-pace life to cook or prepare food after a few years. This is especially apparent among white-collared workers. Everyday, they take 8 hours to work, which is really mental and physical demanding. If they still spend one hour to purchase materials for food and another hour to cook those materials, they will be totally exhausted and endure too much pressure of life. Due to the limitation of time and energy, people will be inclined to spend more time to relax and refresh their mind and less time to cook in order to relieve their life strains.

Moreover, compared with past, we now have numerous electronic appliances, which are virtually our heroes because they save much time for us when we perform cooking. For example, microwave oven makes the several-minutes cooking became reality. We now do not need to spend too much time to fuel the pot and boil the water as past did. Since technology do not stop moving on, there will be more first-rate appliances to facilitate our cooking, thus leading a consequence that the time consumption in cooking will absolutely be retrenched in the future. Even it is not surprising for us to see that some automatic robots replace human to work in the kitchen after a few years later.

At last, with the globalization, many foreign restaurants enter into china, promoting the diversity of food culture. In the future, we will have more choice when we need to make a decision between cooking at home and eating outside. I suppose more and more people will choose to eat outside for they are able to expose to a wide range of food in various restaurants and have good mood when soaking in different atmosphere of restaurants. This also impels people spend less cooking and preparing their food in future.

All in all, it is undeniable that some people enjoying cooking at home and have good mood when they savor their own harvests. However, this does not means everyone will do like that. Taking all above factors into account, I am fully convinced that majority people will consume less time on cooking in 20 years later in order to pursue a more relax, automatic, and amazing life style.

In no time in history have we witnessed such a topic widely discussed as education.(文章首句就让我觉得晦涩,建议不要写的太复杂。) As the number of people who receive education is mounting(作者这里想表达的意思是增加的意思吧,mounting好像不能不能表达这个意思), some raise the question: What we should emphasize on the study? 10 21号作文 写的很烂,没什么思路和点子,大家很拍哦,多谢!

In contemporary society, wealthy people are always admirable, as they could wear brand-clothes, live in outstanding houses, drive first-rate private cars and do not need to work. As the number of rich people is mounting due to considerable progress of society, some people raise the question: Are those wealthy people all happy about their life? The answer is definitely no. Here come the reasons.

When one person becomes wealthy, money to him is paper to us. This is to say that the value of money to rich people is not as remarkable as that to impoverished people. There is something more essential than material reward to a millionaire, namely the psychological need, such as friendship or family support and list will go on. To illustrate this point, there is an example very persuasive. A CEO of a large corporation enjoys high status and is refreshingly good at business. However, he ended up his life after retirement because of depression. When he worked in the corporation, he only cared money but none, thus overlooking the feelings of his friends and family members. When he retired with inestimable wealth, he found no one to express his feelings, because all his friends and family went away from his. Would he will be happy? As a sayings goes, "the more you receive, the more you loss." This logical can apply to here. When one harvests material reward, he may loss mental enjoyment.

Moreover, money sometimes impels people lack of sense of safety, thus putting pressure on them. This is because money jeopardizes one's life. Other people who envy the rich people and want to possess the same amount of money may resolve to extortion or other immoral behaviors. So some of millionaires are afraid of being kidnapped and hire several safeguards. However, this could alleviate their worry temporarily and many of them still could not sleep well because worry of safety. Since they always live in fear, they feel unhappy. For instance, Li Jiacheng, the richest people in china, never walk on the street alone because everyone could identify him and he feel no sense of safety. He endures so much stress that could not live a normal life. At last he has to donate a proportion of his money to subsidize impoverished area in order to release pressure.

It is undeniable that money could ensure material reward. However, it is not omnipotent. Taking all the factors into account, I am fully convinced that people who possess huge amount of money and do not need to work may still unhappy for there are other factors which are more crucial than money in their life but they loss.

With the wide broadcasting of history by mass media, mounting people show great interest in history. As history plays an indispensable part in our civilization, some raise the question: Should history be taught in university regardless of the background and interests of students? This question is so controversial that different people hold various answers due to their conflicting values and different background. Accordance with the opinion of many people is my heartfelt support to the idea that all university students are supposed to take history courses no matter what majors they are.

The first plain truth, I am presenting here, is that history can function as an educational tool to impel us to get a clear perspective of our culture. What we know and perceive in modern society are all imparted by history in either written or spoken forms. For example, from new years painting, a kind of traditional art form in Song Dynasty, we understand that people in that period had the custom of sticking up pictures to celebrate Chinese traditional New Year, and this custom is still prevalent in modern countryside. From the spectacular resort of Great wall, we could figure out that our ancestors have inestimable intelligence. It is conspicuous that history is a crucial element of human civilization and plays an indispensable role to promote our brilliant culture.

The furthermore and subtle point is history is able to enlighten our human because we can get lessons from the set-backs and failure in history and move on towards prosperous future. To illustrate this point, there is an example very persuasive. From World War I and II, it is not difficult for us to figure out that peace is the source of progress. Without it, many countries trapped in economic stagnation during the wars and countless lives fell to the victims of the wars. The chilling facts in history tell us that only peace can ensure the progress of society and war leave us nothing but pain and depression.

At last, our successes now virtually result from contribution of many historical figures. To sum up, taking into account all the factors mentioned above, people do not have to go very far to see that the implications of history are profound and are supposed to by promoting for the sake of education.

With the wide broadcasting of history by mass media, mounting people show great interest in history. As history plays an indispensable part in our civilization, some raise the question: Should history be taught in university regardless of the background and interests of students? This question is so controversial that different people hold various answers due to their conflicting values and different background(前面都是复数了,这里成单的了). Accordance with the opinion of many people is my heartfelt support to the idea that all university students are supposed to take history courses no matter what majors they are.3 A7 f7 V+ i; w) t" h, i$ p

Without it, many countries trapped in economic stagnation during the wars and countless lives fell to the victims of the (去掉)wars. The chilling facts in history tell us that only peace can ensure the progress of society and (这里用but好点吧,因为前后两句是转折的意思吧)war leave(单数) us nothing but pain and depression.9 `2 z- h6 t0 T3 Q

10月27号作文 题目简单,但是个人觉得很不好写,呵呵,大家很拍吧~~多谢

Agree or disagree: The next twenty years from now on, students will not use printed books any more.

As we enter information-exploding society, internet floods our life for it offers us enormous information. So some people worry about the future of printed books and predict that printed books will disappear in the next twenty years. Contrary to the opinion of many people is my heartfelt support to the idea that printed books are by no mean senseless, but enjoy priorities in many aspects.

The first plain truth, I am presenting here, is that the information involved in printed books is more systematic and accurate than that on internet. Unlike internet, which always includes too much information and most of them is not well organize, printed books are classified according to its reference Thus we will not feel frustrated by dealing with too much loose and mass information contained on internet. This is especially evident in library. What students need to do is to figure out where the books are according to their categories and then find a place to bury in research. Besides, there is always some false information on internet as people do not have to shoulder the duty on what they say and what they write. However, knowledge in printed books is more reliable and trustworthy as legal responsibility they have to assume. It is conspicuous that the printed books overwhelm internet in terms of accuracy and system of information.

Convenience is another obvious strength that makes printed books desirable for students. It is common sense that printed books are portable. This means books can be taken to wherever students want to. Compared with this, internet has an interior characteristic that is the usage of internet is confined to certain places where computers are available. There is an example very persuasive. When students are taking bus to home or other destinations, they can read some printed books to past time as well as absorb knowledge. A Chinese ancient saying that one stone kills two birds indicates the incomparable function of printed books. In fact, even if e-books are easily available on internet, I still store many printed books which could fully fill in a room for reason that they are really valuable and meet my demands at extreme extent.

To sum up, considerable though the benefits of internet are, they cannot compete with the merits of printed books when all the factors above are taken into account. Therefore, it is not difficult for people to convince that printed books will not be substituted by any other kind of high-technology devices in the future but used at the maximum effort.

28号作文
As society continues to advance, more demands are being put on the usage of energy. Some experts believe that the only way to hinder the energy-wasting phenomenon is to raise the price of gasoline and electricity. This may appear logical. However, from my perspective, it is nothing but a temporary solution that could not address the energy issue radically. What we need is a long-term solution so as to alleviate the pressure of energy.

It is undeniable that the practice of increasing the price of gasoline and electricity will work in a certain extent. This is because when people want to drive their cars like before, they will attach more weight to the increased expenditure of gasoline. Considering this, they may give up the idea of driving cars and turn to take bus or subway, thus retrenching the consumption of gasoline. However, they will realize the private cars are still their best choice as soon as possible as they are comfortable and at faster speeds. Then they will spare no effort to earn money by raising the prices of other products in order to compensate the loss caused by increased gasoline. Inflation is the indirect and hard of result of rising gasoline. Similarly, people will find alternative resource to replace fuel to generate electricity. It is possible that those alternative resources are still not renewable, resulting in more severe consequence. So it is conceivable that people will at risk of vicious circle by raising the price of gasoline and electricity.

Some scientists suggest that the most effective way to save energy is to enhance the efficiency of energy by utilizing high technology. From my standpoint, this makes sense. In the past, it consumed us 1 litre gasoline to support private cars to run 100 kilometers. However, if there was a high effective engine in cars, the consumption of gasoline will be decrease down to half of the past. In this way,  the same amount of energy could utilize its maximum function and extra energy could be saved. Therefore, it is a highly effective way to achieve the goal of  reservation.

Moreover, Rising the awareness of people to save energy will be another useful way to economize the energy. A saying, "consciousness dictates behaviors", is said by a famous philosopher in ancient Greek. This tells us that when we are aware of the significance of the energy, we will put it into practice. What I want to point here is that if 1 degree electricity was saved by one person, how much electricity will be retrenched by 100 billion people and how many fuels are reserved. It is conspicuous that only raising the consciousness of people to retrench energy can the enery problem be adressed radically.

To sum up, considerable though the benefits of raising the price of gasoline and electricity are, they cannot compete with the merits brought by other measures, when all factors above are taken into account. Therefore, it is completely that raising the price of gasoline and electricity is the only way to ensure the reservation the energy.
