Is through the use of images more effective than language when communicating an idea or value to large groups of people? In my view, it depends on the contents delivered, namely, it is a case by case issue without stable patterns. In fact, various realms focus on various communicational ways. I will illustrate on three realms below.

In scientific realm, scientists are costumed to publish their theories and canons explicated with certain pictures in order to outline their great discoveries. Images supply two dimensions of understanding comparing to language. Therefore, it is really convenient for scientists to show interaction and relationships between subjects through trends of curves and lines. Without figures, readers can easily lost at sea and get confused with too many symbols. What's more, tables also serve as an effective way to organize overall information on statistics. Taking some scientific magazines and journals for example, almost all of papers component pictures to demonstrate their outcomes. Figures indeed increase scientific papers readability.

In art realm, it is necessary the same case as science. Painting and sculpture themselves are image expressions. Artists’ ideas viewed as a whole part with their works, such as pictures, statues, paintings and so forth, which can hardly be expressed by language. If artists express their own ideas in words, something important must be eliminated or lost their primary value. As a consequence, art itself communicate through people in their own way rather than changing its primary expressional style is the most effective.

However, in literature realm, language is the most effective communicational method. Ideas of Philosophers mainly relate to the inner parts of nature properties and character, meanwhile, they use literature formation to explain these profound ideas. In fact, more often than not, they arrange a fictional circumstance and certain roles that cater to their demand. Language expresses ideas in a sense of motivation. As for that, there are many changes in novels and literature works, which appeals to great thinkers and philosophers never stopping to change their minds and think a lot of whys.

To sum up, images and language respectively utilize their own roles in various realms for better comprehension of ideas and value. Effective communicational way ever and should never fix on certain patterns. Remember that things happened have their own context, and a well judgment comes from taking circumstances into account.
