1 理想的作用：目标 动力 精神支柱（最重要）只依赖实际是不可能的
2 当然理想也具有自身的局限性。理想不等于现实，要对现实有正确认识。现实的作用。
3 坚持正确的方法：理想与现实相互统一，要把理想转化为现实。
What is ideality? Do we need to be idealistic, or regard practical as the only way to success? The author’s point that we should use a practical way to success in every realm of life is superfacial and one-sided. In my opinion, both realism and idealism have their functions and limitations, they are both useful, but we can not just limited in only one way in the process of success. The correct method of this issue is to combine the two, transform ideality into reality, to realise our dreams.
Ideality is presentation of the world outlook and phylosophy of life,
it is conceived in practise and can be achieved in the future. Keeping ideality has a lot of significant functions: it is the objective of struggle, the inner driving force, and most important, ideality is a kind of spiritual suppport. As the author mentioned, if we only focus on to success with practical, we would turn to be negative,
emphasize the difficulties and strugglings toward life, which will definitely hinder us from success. As a forunner said, “ a people without ieality is lamentable”. So, without ideality, a practical way would turn to pessimistic, and very hard to achieve our ultimate goal.
Of course, however, ideality has its limitation. If our ideality do not based on reality, it will change to illusion and far away dreams. So we should have a clear recongization of realism. Reality and ideality is mutrual assistant: reality is the source of ideality, but do not equal to ideality; ideality is the distillation of reality, but it would not separate from reality. Since they can not be parted, one sided using the standard of ideality to measure reality will dispointed us, cause ideality always have conflict with reality.
Then, what is the correct attitude toward the relationship of reality and ideality? Since these are mutually assistant, we can not just focus on one side of them, that is to say, reality is the fundemental of life, and ideality is the target, strength force, and final goal of life. Without ideality, reality is pragmatic and negative, without reality, ideality is hope in vain. Thus there occur another question, how could we achieve our ideality through the way of practical? I believe we should have the quality of determination, striving, and to start from little things right under our nose. In any realm of life, political for example, consider idealists such as the founders of the nation, they should be the people’s spiritual leader in the first step, set the idealistic goal of the nation and people, make everyone has “a dream”. Then start practical, which is in second place, start from little things, to make our dream come ture step by step. In a word, so we should base on the reality, pursue for the ideality.
From the analysis made above, I strongly believe that ideality and reality is both important in the successfulness in every realm of life. Idealism keep us a positive attitude toward life, and realism can tell us how to acheieve our goal and ideal. To sum up, this complex issue requires a dialactic perspective.
