In this argument, the author claims that the government should take activities to not only prevent the price get higher but also ensure an adequate supply of milk. The reason for this is that the number of dairy farms thought the country is 25 percent higher and the price is $1.5 more per gallon. At the first glance, this argument seems to be well- reasoned. However, after thinking about it twice, I figured out it is not such logical.

Firstly, there is no relationship between the increasing number of dairy farms and supply of milk. Even though there are more farms, it is still probably that the total supply of the is not increasing. We should not deny the possibility that there was a terrible disease there attack dairies which cause they produce less milk. So, just from the evidence that the number of dairy farms is greater, we should not conclude there is enough milk which may lead the rising price.

Secondly, it is only in Excello that the price increased. We know nothing about other markets situations. Perhaps, the average of milk price is getting down except Excello. Why the price is higher than before is because the milk in E is from another country far away whose milk can meet certain people's need. For example, the milk in B has too much which is not good the old. And for this sake, the E import milk with less fat to satisfy the old people. Therefore, the price of E is twice compared with before. So, the survey in E can not represent the whole average milk price.

Thirdly, the author fails to convince us that the policy can ensure the supply of milk if the price is getting lower. We know nothing about the interest earned by farmers per gallon.
If this policy really take into practice, the most farmers maybe can not afford the high price of the feeding stuffs any longer which may make them leave for another country to survive or sell their milk in other places instead of B. To the end, there would be probably no milk at all. Thereby, whether the government should take activities should be taken into consideration.

In summary, to better bolster the argument, the author should demonstrate exact evidence that the rise of price is directly caused by the increasing number of farms and the situation in E is representative. Moreover, the supply will not decrease by the policy.
